Thanks! Wanna see a pic of the "Guess?" cotton tie I picked up today? I am having not so much luck these days but I AM finding some reasonably decent stuff to wear for the TV show in colors/patterns that make the wardrobe people happier.

Typhoid/Vexco - you two are a couple of sweethearts.

It's a pleasure to deal with such gentlemen (plus Klobber, Grendel, Mr. Deep, Eazy, GMMCL, Pnut, 46n2, TDP, Concealed, Steveoly, DaveSmith, Nataku and everyone else I have sent stuff to or received stuff from).

Thanks! It's just having my arm up, otherwise there's no pulling.
Thanks! Fits really well too, so it's a keeper. [IMG]

    tried them?

if you're the sort of person who gets up in the morning and puts shoes and socks on you probably wont like them... on the other hand if you only put shoes on when you have to, you'll probably love them...

It's like walking around barefoot all day...

Eh, what the hell, I'll do a thrift fit from today.

This is, IIRC, THE FIRST suit I ever thrifted, so it has a special place in my heart. Austin Reed, which I never pick up anymore, but honestly, it's the NICEST Austin Reed I've seen since way back then, and the fit is absolutely perfect IMO. Don't regret it one bit and still regularly wear it (if you can't tell, the pattern is a brownish-grey glen plaid with multi-colored checks. Really great looking in person). Tie: J. Press grenadine (thanks toscano_adottato!), shirt: Canali pale yellow with blue check, shoes: brown AE Park Aves (unseen).

Dig it. The fit looks great.

But I'd love to see an upclose of that grenadine!

So much for not finding anything in la. Been had purple label and Robert graham shirts (my first in both brands). Pics when I get out of this wretched traffic on the 5 S.

Resisted buying a really sweet pair of air force 1's with Harris tweed and higher quality leather in my size. They even had the official Harris tweed label inside each shoe along with leather lining. Something just didn't feel right on my feet. Especially after wearing them in store and seeing that they had been $20 but were marked up to $35 since everything in store was 30% off.

Do you ever buy somthin' just to buy something?
It's been such a dry week, I bought an Adidas polo
and a RL polo for $10. Wow!

    Almost good finds.

I find that short sleeve shirts and polo shirts are the hardest items to find that carry any kind of luxurious brandwhoredom.

I am starting to think the best one could thrift is a Burberry, Lacoste, or Hugo Boss polo or short sleeve shirt. Even these are hard to find. It seems 70% of patrons go straight to the short sleeve section - it is without doubt the most popular men's section in store.

The best I ever did was kop an Alexander Mcqueen short sleeve shirt. Never once in 3+ years of thrifting have I seen anything else in the short sleeve department of that magnitude.

I have seen, very rarely, people here post RLPL polos or RLBL short sleeve button down collars.

I wonder why though? Do these luxury brands not make short sleeve shirts? Or if they do, do people just not buy them?
