It won't work, and will make you look ridiculous.

Thanks! I was just soooooooooooo excited to see a G&H jacket in a vintage store. I literally yelled out, "Oh wow!" Then the excitement wilted after I saw the made in HK tag. Then I became a bit confused...I'm going to try to hit up 20 or so vintage and thrift stores on Wednesday. Wish me luck!

I wouldn't, but if you don't care about ruining a "beautiful vintage glen plaid tweed in a unique green/blue/black"....

And if your tailor refuses to ruin it for you.

Really.....I mean REALLY.... of all the threads, or starting a brand new one, you thought the thrift bragging thread was the BEST place to ask this question [IMG] (off my soap box) Why dont you take a few pictures and post it here...you will get a MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better response.

Yeah, I picked up a G&H SC a while back that was made in USA by Hickey Freeman, and I had trouble even selling it for $10. It was side-vented too. I received 3 or 4 messages by confused potential buyers who didn't understand how it was made in USA when G&H is a Saville Row tailor. After learning it was licensed, everyone lost interest. I could see a suit doing better though.

    EDIT:
Sorry Brian, I didn't mean to sound snarky. It was meant to be a playful jab, no offense intended.

    1) It was for me. It was a bit tight and a bit too ugly. It was cotton and wool. 2) It was $55. Not a bad price...

That's the thing, it has the tags but if feels vintage...did they simply sewn the patches back on there...That's another reason I passed it. I might go back and swoop it up just to flip it on ebay.

Only got $40 for my G&H by HF suit....but of course it wasn't made in HK either.

Do you have any pics? Was it from a thrift store or a vintage store?
