    SRLSY :wow:

    Pics or it didn't happen!!!

I have lived here through college and the good portion of my professional life and have never been compelled to say, "Wow. That's a well-dressed guy" upon passing or meeting any one in Omaha
Another fellow Omahan, Achilles, found some Stefano Ricci shirts once while thrifting IIRC. But I think you may have gotten lucky.

Yes there is a lot of money in Omaha, however if you're rich as balls you typically don't look it. (Tons of boomers and their BRK-A and tons of wealthy farmers. Most are Buffett idols and live their lives in the miserly ways of Warren himself.

For the youth of Omaha, I gather that names with marketing cache like Burberry and Boss are pretty popular. I see a lot of that Burberry check around town. I have a tie that garners a lot of compliments and the exchange goes like this.
-That is a great tie. Is it Burberry?
    -Thanks. No. It's Tom Ford.
-Oh. What's that? Did you get it at Von Maur?
    -NVM

Not many Omahans have heard of names like Attolini, Partenopea and Isaia.

Oh man, as a man on his second Discovery, let me welcome you to the fold. Now that you're a confirmed glutton for punishment might I suggest you go download a copy of the rave and invest in certain wobbly extensions depending on if you got a range or a discovery ( we aren't friends anymore if you just bought a freelander). And don't worry, I'll be here to keep you company on those nights she keeps you up with all her noises and leaks, all rover owners have been there. Welcome to the most aggravating obsession in the world, the Land Rover. :slayer:

Also people please don't think only Oxford captors will make me break out the secret stash of clothes and gear to trade. Any nice business formal or business casual shoes in 9-9.5D I'll consider. Thanks Sono for pming me and eazy I may have some things for you for those woven captoes. Will let you know tonight . Everyone else, keep them coming please , I'll let you know when I don't need em anymore. Would also like to trade for a solid navy blue suit (38r around 30 waist). Almost rounded off my business wardrobe for a bit, thanks to everyone like JP Morris and lookingr8 for coming through.

Also people who got free stuff please let me know when it arrives. Later all sorry for typos , at work on phone .

Truth x2. I certainly wasn't trying to sound all brand-whorish and arrogant. Although I am sort of a brand whore.
Definitely just explaining Omaha as I know it to be. If shitty style were a crime, Omaha would be Camden, NJ.

Absolutely fucking fantastic. Is it surprising that just 90 miles to the east, people think the same way. :embar:

Although I didn't know who Tom Ford was just 18 months ago.

Debating whether or not to go back for some Vestimenta pants. They're made in Italy and (sort of) a guality brand(?), but the interdasting factor is that they're a black and loose weave flat front linen that could possibly be turned into some neat streetwear-ish shorts.

*Also, per this last tidbit ^^, my new app will transmit my every waking thought directly to this thread. Prepare!

I had some vestimenta pants for a looong time that I absolutely loved, till i "grew" out of them. I'd snag them, also don't throw any rocks at me but they manufacture for Armani black label.
While on the subject of Armani Black Label, I have 4 pair of pants and plan on flipping them ( looks like they do pretty damn well on the bay), but 3 of them are made out of weird ass fabrics. like poly nylon RUBBER blend... wtf is up with that? Why the hell would ANYONE pay the retail for black label pants made out of entirely synthetic materials, let alone with rubber in them?

Oh, cool. I used to think that way, too, 'till I sampled some of the higher-end streetwear brands, 'tech' brands, etc. I'm sure when you think about it, you wouldn't mind paying more for a top athletic/outdoorsy label (Nataku, help me out here....!). A lot of brands develop synthetics in-house, perfect their own manner of distressing, etc., so I imagine sometimes, all synthetics are not created equal, and the fabric, all things considered, isn't as cheap as it sounds. And then there's constuction: one of my favorite jackets (an A-2) is made of nylon, but probably the most quality thing I own. It definitely doesn't read as cheap as some sort of Member's Only polyester jacket.

Stuff with rubber can be pretty cool, too:

...like this rubberized cotton bomber by Nom de Guerre :D

Pants I'm on the fence about. Like I really like the look of some of Lanvin's synthetic offerings, yet find myself balking at the price. And then I remember: that's everything, not just their pants.
