    +1.

Wish I had known something about menswear when I got married. Happiest day of my life, but I do cringe to see in photos the rented Men's Wearhouse tux I was wearing. :(

Wedding thrift fit from the past. All this stuff was bought back when thrift stores were super cheap.

    - Thrifted Canali 6/2 double-breasted tonal stripe tux. No alterations. Fit was spot on. $5
    - Zegna bibbed tux shirt with MOP studs ($1.50)
    - Stefano Ricci silk bow tie (.25)
    - Allen Edmonds black lace ups (can't recall the model name). $3
    - Jan Leslie .925 Silver Parrot Cufflinks. $3

What do you folks here know about this? Any info from you big-brained guys is appreciated!

Didn't get a very good shot of the tag - it reads "Original sample - not for sale" across the top:

I don't recall ever having seen one of these, but that doesn't mean it's anything...perhaps akin to a record company's "promo only - not for sale" stamp?

    Thanks in advance.

From the faces I can tell that the groom was very happy, however the bride was still not so sure. :):)

That is awesome. I hate tuxes, as a general matter, but that is really badass.

And in what has to be some kind of SF land-speed record, my search is already over. Huge thank you to Typhoid! Really looking forward to it.

It is exactly what it states - a sample. Generally for wholesale display, runway fashion show or trunk shows. These are made to show to retailers as a sample for orders. Most are made to size 40 US/ 50EU. They may or may not have all of the details, i.e., pockets, etc. They also generally do not have tags, other than the one that states "Sample not for sale" which exempts it from the legal requirements of the country of origin, material details, etc.

The fabric can have some small flaws since they are samples.

So I assume we had a nice, rational exchange of ideas and viewpoints in which everyone ended up enriched and more connected.

(For the record: I could care less what folks do with the stuff I sell/trade them. If I've covered my cost and/or gotten what I feel is a fair bargain, and title has changed hands, it's none of my business. For my part, I have one golden rule: If I buy anything from another dude on this forum, it is intended for my personal use and enjoyment; I do not buy here with the explicit intent to flip. That being said, eventual commoditization is basically inevitable, as closet space, spousal tolerance and general infatuation are not unlimited. My first preference is to trade. Beyond that, disposal is at my option, just as it is yours.)

Thank you for the info - you're right, no other tags, but otherwise seems complete with pockets &c. Some faded writing on the tag - may try to figure that out.

    Regards.

Ha at least you got a good deal for the Corneliani. You have any insight to the quality? I've heard it compared to BB (slightly better). Does that sound accurate?
