Couple things available. Both mostly fit me, but I've accumulated too much into the "needs tailoring" pile and, frankly speaking, I need to get realistic about things.

Zanella 40R. Subtle blue weave. Given the material and my experience with Zanella jackets, I do not think this is an orphan. Tagged 40. Silk/wool blend. Double vented, 3/2 roll (could be converted back really easily). Fairly soft shoulders.

Unmarked blazer, likely made by Tom James. The guy it was made for owned the only golf course that hosts a PGA tournament in the state of Oklahoma. Fits like a 40R. Single vented. 100% wool. Baller pattern. Half-canvassed.

I checked, no such luck but I also don't think it had a drop listed either. It was model SB Austin.

Cool vintage '70s Sulka tie. 100% silk, from Mort Wallin's shop in Vegas. I bought this because I know that someone here might dig it, if only for a costume party. It's available.

They look awfully similar to selvage denim, the identifying characteristic being the white "self edge" on the outside of the material intersection. Often it will be finished halfway with a red stitch as seen below....I don't know exactly what separates the ones you have from true selvage, but it's awfully close. Trust me, you snagged a good pair of jeans, they just don't have the same prestige as other brands. APCs are mostly made in Macau these days; I have no idea if that is a detraction from the quality of the product from the French made ones from a decade ago. I do know that people often shit on APC for using inferior denim, where the Uniqlos you purchased use Japanese and brands like Rag and Bone and imogene + willie use Cone Mills denim from North Carolina.

    APC's selvage finishing:

Gotcha, still, I would think dept. stores would be more careful, but I guess they don't give a shit since it's just being donated. I'm glad this was just a collar tag and not on the chest, otherwise I'd have a big hole to patch.

It actually needs a few small tweaks, otherwise it fits incredibly! I'll post a fit pic when I get it back from the tailors.

yeah thats not selvedge, levis 501 have the same seam just the outseam butted together.

thats marc jacobs mainline, if they fit they're a good basic.

i havea few pairs of the uniqlo S002 jeans

those are also not selvedge, but they're Raw (some) if it matters to you
straight leg and they stack well.

i actually paid about $50 each for the Uniqlo ones in japan + had to drag them over here

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I ended up paying $10 for the Robert Graham and $2.50 for the Borrelli, so I guess eBay will have to sweep away the pain.

Also picked up this Bullock and Jones tie after someone talked their quality up. It's made in England, natch.

Is the Zanella jacket double or triple-pleated?
