1. I'd like to announce that animated avatars are now available again. You'll have to reload, but they are once more possible.

We've been doing a ton of work behind the scenes. The site load speed was already under 1/2 of what Huddler's was, on average, and we installed cloudflare, which means that the site should be even faster. A ton more will go on in the weeks and months to come, and some things will be more visibile, and some less.

    Cheers,

    Fok.

I found these 3 beauts today. Available if anyone so desires. [IMG]

Hermes is 3" across. Middle Brioni is super heavy and soft -3.5". The right Brioni is 3.5" and has a Barcelino tag sewn on it. Anyone know the deal with that ?

Old Silver Label BB. Predecessor to Golden Fleece I believe, with quality at or slightly below that of GF.

Thanks, I have yet to lay hands on a GF, but this is def the nicest BB I have found, other than the SC made of LP Cashmere.

I stopped by a thrift today on the way home from work. I see the woman rolling out a rack and see a True Religion tag fluttering in the breeze. I was thinking "quick flip and maybe get myself something nice" when she stops, grabs the pants and hands them to her friend who headed straight to the till.

I know that i was just going to sell them too, but having someone working the inside just made me mad.

You're kidding yourself if you think that all of these places don't have 5 or morte employees doing this same exact thing.

Yeah, there is some nice stuff that floats around here. I'd say we're appropriately placed on the list. I think our winters shy people away from investing in nice shoes as in around 10 years of thrifting, I've found maybe 4-5 really nice (above Allen Edmonds) shoes.

    Found a few things today:

    - NWOT Gregory Reality green/black backpack. Small
    - Fairly recent Zegna for NM 15 mil mil suit. 3 btn. Side vented.
    - Ministry: Filthpig LP
    - Chumby internet alarm clock w/ carry case and accessories.

That's bullshit. It may be common practice, but if it happened at a GW here, everyone involved would be fired. They have strict rules about employees buying/looting--can't buy anything on days they work and supervisors have to sign off on all employee purchases no matter when they're made. It might be an imperfect system, but I can pretty much guarantee that if I saw something like that and notified a manager--which I would--something would be done. Helps, also, that they have cameras everywhere, almost as many as in a casino, so it wouldn't be just my say-so.

This is the policy at GW alone, from what I've seen (which is the same here). From talking to the employees at Salvation Army (at least around here), their policy fully allows employees to hold back stuff that they want before they go out on the racks.
