I prefer blues/whites/grays (I'm quite boring) I wouldn't turn down darker browns, greens, purples, and reds though. I would avoid pink, orange, tan, and yellow.

    I appreciate it!

The sweater was one of the Paris collection items and then I came across the sport coat at a different store. Have seen other Lapidus items with mixed quality, but the sport coat is in great shape and great quality. Have seen a couple of his items sell on ebay for under $100, but thoght I'd try with the sport coat.

Who donates NWT Hermes ties, and with the $200 price tags attached and bright colors, how do they last more than an hour???

depends on where you live... around here where I'm visiting family most people wouldn't know nice clothing if it hit them in the face at 100mph.

[Prepares for more hate] I'm the proud owner of exactly 0 Hermes ties. I've literally never seen one that appeals to me -- NOT judging others who like/wear them; taste is intensely personal; they just don't do it for me. (Incidentally, I also own exactly 1 other printed tie, that was given to me by my kids on Father's Day last year, so I keep/wear it for sentimental reasons. I just have a serious preference for woven) If it weren't for the fact that I try to offset my clothing addiction enthusiasm by periodically selling, and my interest in trading here with my thrifting brethren, I'd generally hiss at them, throw garlic and make the crucifix with my index fingers every time I saw them in a store. Luckily that's not often, which works out well for everyone involved.

But my point is: People buying only for themselves might not like them; they are somewhat busy and presumably therefore an acquired taste.

    Edit: Grendel:

That may be one of the nicer Armani ties I've ever seen, and I/family members worked for the company for several years.

You ain't kidding. BB 346 is high-end here. We have a Von Maur dept. store that sells Hugo Boss and Santorelli shirts. Nice but overpriced. Which is why I have very little to share in this thrifting thread. I thought I found gold when I found that Finamore shirt.

Where do they live in Iowa?
