Hadnt had too much time to thrift this week until yesterday and today...but its been very good so far by my standards..

1st, actually from last week, I picked up this Samuelsohn 46R, fairly recent for my Dad last week, but it was a little too snug for him...he needs to lose some weight.....
Its pretty nice, 46R, 40% wool, 30% silk, 30% linen, and fairly recent I believe..available for cost + shipping..
    shoulders-20"
    pit to pit- 24"
    Sleeve- 24+ appx 1.75"
    BOC-31.5

From yesterday evening, hit a stash of Robert Talbott silk knit ties (4)(one 2nd from right is actually green, crappy pics) , + 1 Paul Stuart...(pink yellow black), BB cotton/linen (I think regarding material, but pretty nice) on far right

Allen Edmonds, apparently recently recrafted Black Grayson, size 12D

Polo, cotton unlined seersucker jacket,3 roll 2, working surgeon cuffs, sweet pink lining under collar and pocket flaps, size M, but fits we fairly well...on the fence on whether keeping or not...(crappy quality pics again though), sorry!)

I saw a lovely old Hart Schaffner Marx overcoat today, labelled "Vicunair". Vicuña blend? Didn't get it due to moth bites and higher price.

I've found nearly new Paul Smith, Pringle, Coach, and Allen Edmonds belts at thrifts. I find it easier to feel for the quality of belts over doing the feel test on (in descending order of enjoyment/reward) pants, sport coats, and ties. I often get fooled by smooth textures on these three categories and waste too much time looking at them and thus become frustrated.

It does take longer to flip belts around and look for makers, but the thickness and feel of the material seems so obvious to me. It's the same as picking up a fine bench crafted shoe and feeling the material and heft. I dunno, maybe belts are my personal gift from the thrift gods.

That said, I haven't found one that made me swoon in at least a month. I'm on the hunt for the flyest double ring belt if anyone comes across one like this: http://www.contextclothing.com/item.php?id=1458 then please clue me in.

No one called me out on it, which I appreciate; but just in case, and for the record - when I bought and bragged about a 4-button suit, this is what I was thinking:

That's Hardy Amies 4-button suitl. Not sure if what I bought is as old, but...

It wasn't till later that it hit me: when people think of 4-button suits, this is what they think of
    [IMG]

    Anyways. It was bothering me.
