Yeah that's the thing, I'm not so sure I actually like the deep gorge. I'll try to take a better pic when I get home, thanks.

I do however love that subtle windowpane in the suit (which I originally thought was solid). At second look, I thought my monitor was playing tricks on me until I enlarged the pic.

Looks fine. It has somewhat soft shoulders and if your shirt cuffs showed, it would "balance" better. Pant cuffs look ok from picture, your not wearing straight leg levis, they are suit pants.

    Nice look.

Yeah, I regretted the shirt (I really need to get rid of it since the sleeves are too short to show some cuff, which I prefer), but it was too late to change. Thanks!

I may know an option for you if you don't have anything lined up, but its probably best left to PM.

I have a US made rlpl tie sitting in my trunk which I believe is not a fake.

Edit: Upon taking a picture...close but not the same tie.

Looks and feels like other rlpl I have. RN number is 41381 - RL Corp.

Well, it makes you look very tall and skinny. I think it's a good fit.

Thanks, I'll have to give that a shot!
This is actually a dream of mine. Would be nice! :D Thanks guys for all your kind thoughts and concern. It means a lot. I kinda saw the lay offs coming, as did some other guys. The company has been hurting financially for the past year or two. There's a possibility of a call-back when they get their act (and finances) together, but I'm not holding my breath. Oh well, things will sort themselves out. I'll look on the bright-side and enjoy doing my eBay job until another position comes along or I get called back. More time to hit thrifts and garage sales? I'm ok with that! Plus the fact that they had whittled my hours down so badly over the past couple years, I won't really be missing much.
That looks like a very early RLPL tie. RLPL is the only maker I've seen to use that script on a purple label. RLPL does date back to the mid 1990s.

Diggin the soft shoulders. The only suggestion I would make is the shoes. Do you have any captoes or any european looking shoes? I always associate wingtips with Made in USA BBrothers or classic american businesswear. I think you're going for a more worldly look, right?

Hmm, yeah I have brown and black captoes...that's actually a good point, thanks, I'll make that switch next time.

If today's thrifting excursion had a catchphrase, it would be, "Oh for fuck's sake, Haggar!"

    Did get some shirts, though:

Etro blue/pink/black/white striped shirt. Available, tagged 39 (about 15" collar, 25" from shoulder seam to shirt cuff)

Ted Baker London black/pink striped shirt. Available, though not to everyone's tastes. Tagged 15.5 collar, 34/35 sleeve.

And a pink MTM shirt pour moi, maker unknown

Will post some pics a bit later.

Whoops, I made the last post with an old account I had registered but decided not to use.

Don't hang the pants. I use the following shots:

    1. Fabric close up
    2. Waistband close up - waistband takes up 2/3rds of the photo, backdrop takes up other 1/3rds.
    3. Pants folded
    4. Pants laid flat, on their side, leg stacked to show the rippling effect.

Also, today, found a vintage belted Brooks Brothers tan rain trench. Great shape, best for spring and summer (not snow, etc). Probably best for a 44. Any of you in need of such an item?
