Thats a sweet score ! Nice
Handful of ties:
BB, BB, Etro (my first), Zegna, Burberry
If there are any larger fellows looking for staple suits I found the following, all about a 54 US:
- Brooks Brothers Solid Navy
- Brooks Brothers Solid Charcoal
- Zegna Textured Blue/Gray (unvented)
Let me know if anyone needs pics/measurements.
Spoiler: Warning: Spoiler!
Not at all. I have a coat from the RTW line made by Belvest, and it's lovely. But the bespoke is a whole different level.
Woo hoo! Post #29001 !
Old habits die hard, I guess. I had some time off this afternoon and was within striking distance of the one store that has consistently yielded quality scores for me. I found this PRL / made in Italy casual shirt in size large that I was going to offer to you guys but I tried it on and it it's either cut like a smallish medium or someone threw it into the dryer. It feel guuuud. Ima keep it.
About those old habits, I had been avoiding the suit rack since there's no real need for any more but then I thought that maybe I'd find something that would help someone here. About a third of the way in, I hit a grey coat with a very subtle plaid that almost looked solid. It felt nice and when I looked inside, I saw the familiar Brooks Brothers label. Then I looked closer and saw the words "Golden Fleece" and I ...
...had a moment. It was MY size!
Then I realized there were no pants.
Then, I found a SECOND coat and looked inside. My size again and once again...
...once again without pants.
I thought, well, I'll go have a look through the pants racks. Five minutes later...
That's right! I done been had Brooks Brothers Golden Fleece at last!
There are no restrooms in this particular store and none nearby and I was already about 15 minutes past my expiration time for a pit stop and I was feeling a bit...
...but there was no way I was leaving that store without tossing every pair of pants in the joint to find the gray ones as well. I checked the other suits in case the pants got cross matched. I checked the women's pants. The kids'. The shirts. The shorts.
Two hours later...
I had to pay an extra $1.50 because although the two pieces were marked as separates and should have cost $8.50 for a "sport coat" and $5.00 for "pants", the cashier saw the match and charged me for a suit at $15.00, even though I had to do all the hard work of matching them up. I should have paid separately.
Oh well, I didn't get the gray but I did get the brown and the PRL for twenty bucks. I felt ...
Dig, I love your posts!
Whats a nasty gram?
Thanks, but I only use FedEx for extremely high value internationals. I do have a corporate account, but I'm 3m from a post office, 30m from a FedEx place.
Oh, most certainly yes. Thats a good one. How much did you pay? I could sell that for easily $500 without trying.
So...about those sizes on the BBGF...
2 button, single vent, double pleats in the pants.
Well. The one pair of pants. No idea about the other pair.
Why thank you, sir.
Hit a few stores today, had some good finds.

Black Park Avenue 8.5 E (keeping)
Black Sanfords, 10 B (available)
White nubuck Orlean model 7.5D marked FR, available-also has marker on side of show- need to figure out how to clean that off(available)
8.5 E Grayson brown, keeping

8C Saratoga, (similar to grayson),(FR), available
My coolest shoe find of the day, however, was this pair of seemingly vintage "Made in Italy" for Nunn Bush alligator shoes, size 10A..I'd totally rock these if they were my size....probably gonna throw these on the bay...
I've heard Nunn Bush was a very good brand back in the day, but anyone have any idea who might have made these..? May post on the shoe ID thread...
Polo made in Italy (corneliani?) 84% flax 16% silk, size 42L
Polo Made in Italy Cotton/Linen Plaid partially lined casual SC 42L
Bill's Khaki's Plaid madras-y partially lined, cotton casual SC -size ML (Large?)
My 1st 7 fold tie find ...BB Golden Fleece
Worst part of the day though...left behind an Oxxford for Saks....100% Cashmere SC.....had about 4-6 moth holes on the upper back......
I picked up a blue golden fleece orphan with an identical tag a few days ago. I searched through the pants rack and found nothing though
Spoiler: Warning: Spoiler!
Is the PRL brown plaid for sale?
I wonder what the percentage is of permanently orphaned vs. successfully reunited suits works out to be in this thread. 10:1?
PM Sent on those 7.5's ---- Hopefully this make up for my sad shoe day
Sounds about right to me..
