Am I crazy or do I see micro creases, specifically on the right shoe (pictured on the left). I hope that's not the case...I think you'd be smarter than that.

I thought the same thing about the creases. Brian, you should post those in the AA Shell thread on the trad forum for a definitive answer.

Just did, thanks. The numbers matched up to the "Shell Hunters Guide" #9147... so to be honest, didnt even look to close at the shoes. Got them out of the box and took photos as I was really excited about them and how good condition they are in...Either way, I'm still happy, just not as happy for spending that much now [IMG]

Accidentally bought a women's shirt. Any of you brosephs know a size 14 woman looking for a like-new Thomas Pink blue tattersall shirt with french cuffs?

You know I know it's no SFA...but I think you can do a lot worse than Bacharach. I see their stuff from time the time and quality and styling looks decent and I know some of their stuff is made in Italy.

Brian.... those are 100% NOT shell. Sorry. Those heels are of the era where they would have been combination heels if the shoes were shell. Recrafts put combo heels on even if the original shells had rubber heels - which wasn't that common to begin with, not sure how long ago that was but it's been awhile.

And, good god, man, look at the creasing!? If you have questions about an ebay snipe attempt and don't want to tip people off, PM some folks who have dealt with a lot of shell. There do exist cases where it's just not possible to tell from the photos, but they are few and far between.

I reserve a special level of hate... for Corfam. :cloud: That shit misleads on the shelf and can mislead in photos too. Luckily it's usually marked pretty well. This has nothing to do with your shoes, btw, just venting. ;)

Visited three stores today and.... zilch. Well, not zilch, but eh. I picked up a Zanella shirt, a BB polo, a Scott Barber shirt, and a LL Bean shirt for a friend who's coming in to town from Japan - clothing is apparently SUPER expensive even at "recycle shops" there, and he won't have time to thrift while here (for a funeral, unfortunately) so I'm at least going to send him back with some nice clothes!

    So they're not shell, then? $100 for second-hand, non-shell AE's? [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I mean, it happens. When you buy used stuff over the Internet, you're going to get stung every once and while.
