Found an old oil painting (abstract) once a few years back. It was actually headed to the dumpster when I rescued it because I thought it was cool looking. It was pretty wild, and rather large (36x60 or so). My wife absolutley hated it. It hung in my office for a year or so before she convinced me to get rid of it. I found a scratched in signature and date on the corner of the painting. Research indicated the artist was a professor at Rutgers who was influential in the beginnings of the whole abstract movement. I sold it almost immediately for $500. Was afraid for a long time that I would see something on the news about a rare Million dollar painting found on ebay for $500. It wasnt 190K, but I was just as excited for my $500 trash pick.

I always scout out the electronic section of GW, and I've found a barely used USB tablet that went for $76 on ebay, and a sealed apple care warranty worth $250 for the gf (bragged before), both were priced at $9.99 :slayer:

Great find! I think that's a mixed medium work -- the "paint" is a 3:1 mixture of Faygo and rohypnol (I forget what the binding agent is). Do the lick test to make sure it's an original; if you pass out, you've struck GOLD!

    Hello guys,

Having enjoyed reading this thread greatly for a long time, I thought I'd go ahead and share a little of what I've been finding here in Sweden. I strictly go for stuff that I can wear since the market for trading is rather small here. Hopefully, it'll change and I'll be able to do that as well.
I find that I sometimes have a little bit of an advantage here since I pull around a 46L/48L, which isn't too common among the fashionable peeps.

Before showing the closest I've come to a grail, I'll go ahead and share some of the stuff that's in my daily rotation. This was picked up at goodwill for around $25. In Sweden, finding a jacket for $5 just doesn't happen.

This is from mid-end Swedish brand SIR, which usually means nothing fancy. However, I quite like the way it fits. Three button, centre vent construction:

Fabric from rather good maker Dormeuil sparked my interest a little bit more. Half canvas construction. The pattern is a bit more visible in this image:

Just the fact that the painting was found in my general area is pretty exciting for me...that's pretty awesome.

Had a half day so I hit four stores. Got a whole lot of nothing except a navy with green zig zag PRL tie.

Can someone help me identify the maker on this trench coat?
