GRENDEL! This thing is screaming your name, I think ....
Since I don't know what you guys like anymore, and it seems like I'm only finding things not in my size, I wanted to gauge interest in this little number because it's priced a little higher than the normal offerings. I'll shoot on out to pick it up tomorrow if there are curious parties (or should I gamble and hope next week is a yellow-tag week?).
The lapels seemed a little less serious in person and, um, on person.
It felt to me like a 40-42 R.
also today a Lora Piana trench. Size L.
Trade / buy?
Loro Piana trench WANT.
Anyone interested in a couple identical grey charcoal pinstriped Tom James single-breasted coats, 42-44? If I can find the pants I'm buying them regardless, but I can't use the pantless jackets … but if there's anyone who can, and is in the size neighborhood, lemme know.
Before someone says the button stance is too low, I dig this a lot. Very nice!
^Are those Targyles?
Well... it happened today. My first Brunello Cucinelli. Nothing too wild - just a solid red polo pullover style shirt with black (smoke colored) MOP buttons at the collar, but still my first.
1x Pair of Alden tassel loafers in burgundy. Marked 8 1/2 B/D.
1x Bill Khakis M2P with cuffs. 38 x 28 1/2 or so.
1x Bonobos Khakis. (for me, ).
1x Brooks Brothers navy blue and gray repp striped braces with leather tabs.
1x Bullock & Jones: San Francisco solid pink French cuffed dress shirt. 16 x 33.
1x Ermenegildo Zegna Napoli Couture red, white, & blue striped French cuffed dress shirt. 16 x 35.
1x Ermenegildo Zegna Soft charcoal gray summer weight trousers with cuffs. Marked EUR 52 (36 x 32).
1x Gianluca Isaia Napoli charcoal gray with brown windowpane pattern double breasted sport coat (might be an orphan, but it seems too heavy to be a full suit). Marked EUR 50 R.
1x NWT HILTL gleaming white summer pants with MOP buttons and navy blue piping on the pockets. 36 x unhemmed.
1x Incotex tan corduroys (the "made in Italy" kind, not the "made in Romania" kind). 34 x 27 or so with 2 1/2 TOTAL inches to let out.
1x Current J. Press Indian madras short sleeved shirt. Marked M.
3x Current J. Press sweater vests in a predominantly green & cream Fair Isle pattern (made in CHINA!), solid heathered gray (made in Ireland), and solid heathered blue (made in Ireland) in sizes M, L, and XL respectively.
1x Polo by Ralph Lauren charcoal gray pinstripe (made in USA). Marked 44 L.
and some vintage stuff for my Etsy shop.
However, 3 quick Q's:
1. Martin Dingman? Anybody know anything about this maker b/c I also picked up a pair of really well-done embroidered silk braces with leather tabs at the same time I found the BB braces I mentioned above?
2. Warren Cook Custom out of Canada? I picked up a navy blue window-pane patterned suit at the same time I found the Polo suit I mentioned above. It seemed particularly nice.
3. Re: the Isaia jacket. Orphan? Not an orphan?
Jacket doesn't fit... anywhere
Picked up this sweet piece of Hartmann Luggage today. Leather hard case suitcase. Inside has compartments and hinges and such. Available.
Shoulders are a bit wide, maybe, but I've met the man, and he has wide shoulders. The sleeves may just be b/c of shirt sleeves. Length is right, and it's more of a sack cut, so the waist and chest look correct. If it were an Italian or modern cut, sure, I'd agree, but this isn't that.
And I'm well-aware you dislike lower button stances. C'est la vie.
Wow, what a haul! Pictures of the above?
I'll get some up tomorrow when there's good natural light. I don't wanna "ruin" a good haul with crappy pic's, .
Finally found some $1 ties again. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th are Carroll & Co, which seems to be what I most often find worth picking up
and a Borrelli shirt. Seems to be new.
Spoiler: Warning: Spoiler!
and a Prada tuxedo shirt that also seems to be new. If anyone wants to take a look to see if it's a fake or not, I'd be happy to know what you think.
Spoiler: Warning: Spoiler!
and two extremely rare shirts that actually fit me. A white David Saddler Slim Fit, and a Facconable tan corduroy shirt. Not worth pics of course.
Dingman makes some good stuff. They focus on belts, braces, etc., but have also done shoes. They do a lot with alligator. I think they're based in Arkansas. I have belts and braces from them that I've thrifted. It's worth getting when you see it.
i think i saw this once at Harry Rosen for like $1800 if not more...definitely sell on ebay and get some good coin for it
