Every time Mainy posts, my poor little thrift finds get thrift inadequacy. I have to spend the day comforting myself, telling myself that my tiny little haul is just-as-good as his big, throbbing, manly haul.

Can I see pics of your manly haul, Mainy?

They are trad, old school. Bigger in Japan frankly. Used to cater to Ivy crowd. Now owned by Japanese but continued traditional lines. Most stuff is as good as mainline BB, and PS. Oddly except Pressidential line suits are fused these days. They have a store few hundred yards from my office, I became enamored by their wares but mostly can't afford them. They usually use other companies to make stuff for them. Duffle coats are Gloverall, suits Southwick and others, cashmere and woolen stuff various Scottish makers etc.

Well, even if its just 1 person demanding, I'll spill. A few weeks ago I posted that I had visited my local Marshall's and was devastated to find an orphaned Brioni Tux jacket sitting there priced at around $500. I just so happened to visit that Marshalls again today, and, lo and behold, I found the matching pants in the "very last chance clearance" section. I scooped up the pants (which by now were tagged separately with their own price), and scuttled back to the suit rack to see if the Brioni jacket was still there. Not only was it there, but it had gone through another phase of markdowns :slayer:

I convinced the manager to not charge me for the pants, and I walked out of Marshalls with a NWT $6,000+ Brioni Tux for the sum of...................$289.

Vicuna Kiton (albeit, women's), sub-$300 NWT Brioni tuxes? You're straight killing it on the quality front my friend.

That was my suspicion because the wear looks identical to the Florsheim's . Checked against the shell spreadsheet and there were only three Mason models listed...this one not among them.

The sad thing is with both the pairs, a size too large and a size too small.

Wait a minute--*has revelation*--do those black heel pads just stretch out the life of a worn heel a little longer? IE when the heel starts to wear you just have these added for a couple dollars? I've always wondered what they were for, and seeing the colony of them on the right shoe made me think...

Unfortunately.....the size may be a reason it was at Marshalls in the first place......52L. And by 52L I mean 62/52, not 52/42. Still, was too good to pass up, and I imagine I'll post it up on ebay in short time for some semi-obscene price as a BINOBO.
