Think I found my first truly brag-worthy piece today. My first Oxxford! It's an Onwentsia suit in what seems to be a 44R. I looked but couldn't find find the post from a few weeks back on dating Oxxford by the tag. The pattern is a gray miniature-herringbone with a gorgeous blue windowpane (sorry if my nomenclature is off).

I passed on two Southwick blazers, one that may have been an orphan, and a navy w/ brass buttons with a too-low button stance; also left a pimpin' double breasted Navy Canali with amazing grey MOP buttons, and a Fendi (?) pinstriped suit jacket, couldn't find pants for either of them. The Oxxford is definitely available - I could fit two of me in this thing. PM me if you want to buy/trade. Thanks!

Nice haul today, all up for grabs.

Corneliani sport coat 52R fits like a 40

    25 sleeve
    19 shoulder
    21 pit
    31 long BOC[IMG]

A vintage bespoke fully canvassed navy herringbone overcoat; gorgeous but sleeves too short for me about a 40, medium weight not a heavy coat.

    24.5 sleeve
    17.5 shoulder
    22 pit
    40.5 long

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Vintage Stuart McGuire shell cordovan plain toe oxfords. No size but guessing a 7.5 or 8 11.5 long 4 inches wide. Have not had much wear

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Canali Milano beige suit, pristine shape, 50R euro, closer to 38 US

3 button no vent fully canvassed

    18.5 shoulder
    21.5 pit
    30 long
    32 waist +2.5

Did you already start your plan? I saw a Brioni suit in a size of a fellow SFer who trade with me but marked at $200, and an orphan pinstripe suit jacket marked at $80 in an LA store. It is not about more competition, but possibility of killing the thrift hobby. Just imagine if all the RLPL, Brioni, etc. are marked as those Armani/Prada/Gucci items...

This is timely. Found a vintage BR tan khaki jumpsuit, of all things, today. Pondered and pondered till my ponderer was sore, but, ultimately, left it. It was half-off, but who knows what they would consider the base price to be--worst-case scenario, they'd consider it a long coat, I suppose, which would put it at $4. Should I go back in the a.m. and fetch it? Thoughts welcome.

Edit: Never mind. I love vintage BR, but eBay shows it's a limited market at best.

If that was a tad larger I'd be PM'ing you so my wife could kill me about another box arriving.

Not to be a school marm, but that's not courtesy, that's stealing. There was a cashier at GW who once did that for a relative (a recovered thrifter) and myself. I never asked, and I ultimately started avoiding him--I'd have thirty bucks worth of stuff and he'd ring it up for less than $3. My relative, on the other hand, looted GW with his help and held garage sales every three months or so. He was finally led away in handcuffs one day. I love a great deal as much as anyone, but we should all remember that GW, SA and a lot of other thrifts do good works.

Are these something special? I'd never heard of TODS until a day or two ago I saw a pair marked $95. This in a store where I once bought Shell Cordovan Aldens for $21!

If anyone needs an overcoat, I came across an older Crombie Wool/Cashmere in gray. I'd peg it at about a 43/44 because I can wear it, just not with a jacket.
