1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

also, in hopes of actually contributing to the bragging aspect of this thread:

+infinity. i've gotten WAY nicer clothes via developing good relationships with other dudes here than i ever would have gotten by flipping for profit then buying. less effort, too.

    • short view = charge high prices to person A in order to afford person B's high-priced item
    • long view = hook people up and make friends, then wait for them to hook you up in return, effectively outsourcing your thrifting and developing a nationwide network of personal shoppers. :teach: :D :slayer: :fonz:

Ok, sounds like that is the most popular advice so half of $625 it is

I'm actually buying a 3 year old scooter with the profits.

Soo, nobody was stoked to see the Quoddys I kopped for $65 shipped? Man, guess I should only post boring, dated suits from here on out. I'm sure it'll piss some people off to hear that I leave almost every PRL suit that I see...

They meant half of the resale value, not retail.

    haha no.
he meant "sell it to a forum member for half of whatever the prevailing ebay rate is, develop goodwill, then reap the benefits in the long run"

    i was stoked.

Best advice i can give you and it's not meant to sound like a jerk, but go back and read a few thousand posts. It will make you a better thifter and also not look like a total noob who hasnt put in any effort

    Quote:
+1 IMO it's one thing for someone who has been here a while to ask a legit question about a random item price/etc on ebay (I do this myself from time to time, while I am bragging that I found the damn thing) but someone with under 20 (50?) posts to just ask stupid how much is my item worth questions, I personally think they are just illiterate and can't read the title of the thread.

    This is correct. Thanks Mexiterpreter.

No offense, but post count is irrelevant. You're creating a distinction where one shouldn't exist.

Are you Neiman Marcus? Are they new in box? Nobody ( except Spoo sometimes) get retail for stuff on eBay, and especially not if it's not new in box / with tags.

No, that's awesome. I don't respond to every post I think is cool. I kopped Quoddy's at a thrift store for $10, cleaned 'em up, and flipped 'em for $70 even though they were pretty worn.

Right, but the suggestion was to sell for half of what you could get. You couldn't even get half of retail on eBay.

Don't do that. If it's made in Italy pick it up. If it's made in the USA it can be good too.
