Warning that Paraboots sizes are UK not US. Bought a 7 tan Avignon from GW auction for my dad for 66 bucks, too big. :(

Available.

Paraboot is quite under-rated. I've only had one pair and they were very nice. I'll second that those are well worth $66.

Wow! That fit looks really good. Is that one of the online tailored or MTM?

Thanks. It's got the guy's name on a preprinted tag inside with some sort of account number. I'm thinking MTM.

Okay, someone tell me about Frye. After never having heard of it before I've now seen it 4 times in the last 2 days.

Just sweep them all into a box and ship them to me; I'll properly incinerate them so no one has to see them again. What sizes have you seen? Frye makes tons of shoes, some of which are kinda dated style wise, others are really spot on. They're all bench made, with the most recent lower-priced models made in Mexico.

While not exactly men's clothing, I couldn't pass this up.

A brand new, never installed, medium George Nelson bubble lamp, by Modernica. I paid more than I normally would at the Goodwill ($80), but considering they sell for $330 I'm pretty happy.

QFT. It's nice to see unusual and vintage stuff sometimes, but I do agree that the licensed Dior and YSL is getting old. Using brand as a shortcut for quality only goes so far. You have to pick things up because they're good. That's how I picked up that trench that turned out to be a real Mackintosh, and that "Abla" suit that turned out to be a Caruso. One also needs to learn to tell the difference between "faking quality" and "real quality" or else you'll be drowining in fancy-looking-but-lousy Daniel Gray and Tasso Elba stuff.
It's been said many times, but reading the whole thread is the best education. And don't see the proliferation of, frankly, lousy brands as an endorsement - just a sign that everyone makes mistakes, especially when starting out. Over time it's easier to pick out interesting things that may be of high quality or attract interest EVEN IF they don't have a crazy brand label. Complaining about 45 minutes and finding nothing is exactly the mark of a beginner, frankly - those of us who have been at this awhile may go out ALL DAY and find nothing AT ALL, let alone anything worth posting here. I've had that happen a couple of times - visit eight or ten stores and find nothing but fumes left in the gas tank. Sure, it's groan-inducing, but it's how you learn, and you can't find anything if you're not out there looking.

This is dead-on. It's hard to fathom the stuff that shows up on this thread. I go to four stores a day, every day, and think I do pretty well, tending toward TNSIL, but jeepers: I've never found any RLPL and my first Brioni came two days ago. I celebrate must-iron BB OCBDs and bemoan the lack of market for quality top coats. If it fits and it's quality, I'll buy it no matter the label, old JAB being a case-in-point. It's impossible to flip, but back in the day, it was good stuff. I've been doing well lately, spending nearly $150 in the past four days, but nothing that's way over the top, enough to cover gas and the eight BB OCBD's I found for myself (yes!) and keep me going for another day in the thrift-store casinos where, sooner or later, I'll hit the mother lode, swear to god.

I think we are saying the same thing.

Fair enough...

I have a buddy who had a glass of Pappy Van Winkle in a bar last year, and now swears all other bourbon is "crap." YoungAmerican's tone reminded me of this guy. I like Pappy, but I drink a ton of Wild Turkey, and if I go to a bar that is serving 10 cent shots of Wild Turkey, I'm gonna brag about it.

If you've ever had the chance to sip the 23 year Pappy Van Winkle, no other American whiskey, bourbon or otherwise, can touch it. And I've had 3 dollar pours of George T. Stagg...not even the bragworthiness of this stands in the way of that 23 year gift from the gods.

If you still want that Dunhill jacket done deal. I have a couple other shirts that may interest you as well.
I also tried on the Made in England RLPL Jacket WGP has set aside for you. I think it would fit me much better :embar: Sadly he kept it with him, but I got dibs if you pass.

The Barbour is yours no prob. The Dunhill, I was going to use it in a trade with another here, but we worked on a deal without it being a possibly addition. For now the Dunhill is not required.

As for the RLPL jacket, if WGP has something to replace the jacket, I have no issue with him handing the jacket to you if it fit you well and you liked it. From my perspective, I will keep my end of the bargain trade wise with WGP since my box for him is already packed and ready to go. If it works out you or WGP require an "I owe you in future", I could live with that. It is up to WGP though.

I have seen that one by Dior in the past. Cant say for sure, but tag looks authentic.

Brianpore and guys who need smaller shirts. The Nutter is a 38/15. French Blue with french cuffs. Spread collar. Only issue I can see, is the forint edge f the collar upon looking at it looks like it's worn down. However when you look at it closely there is no wear on the material. If there is any interest shoot me a PM.
I also have a pair of 34 Waist Filson Flat Front khakis and a pair of Bills M1 36 waist.

French Cuffs usually kill it for me as I seem to have really short arms at 31" Pants are too big, still need to find my first pair of Bills.

The Barbour is yours no prob. The Dunhill, I was going to use it in a trade with another here, but we worked on a deal without it being a possibly addition. For now the Dunhill is not required.
