They're quite gorgeous but too narrow for me, and I have my fill of black wingtips for now. Thanks though! Great shoe finds.

Never ever leave Red Wings on the shelf, unless they have holes in them. They can be completely rebuilt for $95, shipping included. That's less than half the price of any of their mid-high range models. That said, what size are these?

yay! My eyes are deceiving me less, it seems.

Almost -- almost! -- got suckered by a "Borelli" suit today, but thanks to the ones who came before on this thread...I wasn't a sucka.

    Eh? :eh:

And I was just about to retire my beloved Red Wing Pecos boots after 15 or so years. Now you're telling me they can be rebuilt?

    Are these Shell?

They are from "The Florsheim Shoe." There is no V-Notch on the sole, but I am relatively certain thy are all original.

Size is 10 C - they are available.

Had an epic (well, personally epic) find this week. Behold -- CEREBUS. One of the greatest, and certainly most sustained, works in the history of fiction, it literally embodies Michael Gladwell's 10,000 hour rule, evolving over thirty years from a crudely-rendered adventure parody into a deeply personal and lasting work of art. This one, volume 9, I found signed and numbered. Worth maybe $50, but it comes at a great time, as one of my New Year's resolutions was to read the entire series from the beginning.
    :slayer:

    :foo:

Also, if I may add a piddly B&S question:

Can anyone tell me what kind of tie this is? Versace? V2? Other?

Shell indeed. This will take some love, shoe trees, patience and new (thinner) laces to bring them back to their former glory. Use Renovateur sparingly and work with your hands to soften the leather and restore pliability. Then insert the shoe trees and rub them to conform to the shape of the trees. Repeat daily for at least a week or two. The shoe trees (properly fitted ones) will help the shoe adapt memory and assist to restore the original shape.

I thought all Florsheim shells were color8 or black. This looks shell though in front, lacks the puffy holes. What is the line eg Imperial or Royal Imperial, and the number?
