AlanC - Those chairs look amazing!

Big +1. I scored big points with my wife when I brought her home two pairs of Jimmy Choos and a pair of Christian Louboutins. Scored them for $50/pair and all had the original dust bags. Were purchased from the garage sale of a very wealthy household so authenticity was basically guaranteed. These are $500+ shoes new, so $50 was a steal and it's always nice to share the hobby with your loved one. After that, she wasn't as confused when I said I wanted to spend the day garage saleing/thrifting.

    :bigstar:

As for "thrifting" cars, you'd be amazed at what you'd find in California. I scored my wife's summer car for $500 out of a junkyard down there. 1981 VW Scirocco. Green w/ mustard yellow interior. 78k miles. One owner. Rust free and the paint was mint. Junked because the owners were getting up there in age and couldn't drive anymore. None of the kids wanted it and couldn't get it smogged to they scraped it. Idiots....

To think what would have happened to it if I wasn't there. I have a 1980 in equally nice condition and after a few years of enjoyment with the car we decided to sell as it was impractical for us to have 4 cars at this point in our lives. Sold it to another enthusiast and watched them drive off into the sunset.

Did you fly down to CA to pick it up and drive it back?

Nah, had it shipped using DAS Auto Shippers. Great company if you ever buy a car out-of-state. Total cost was like $400 to ship.

K, so this was Korea by way of B&S, not a thrift, but I was especially pleased to troll my entire grocery store with this #menswear x sufu frankenstein monstrosity.

    SW&D was not amused.
