Today was a day of heartbreaks. Went to a shop that normally doesn't have much and there are clearly more SCs/jackets so I'm looking forward to it. See this first:

AWESOME looking Oxxford SC. Check the tag - 43L, doable for me...yessssss! Look closer: riddled with moth holes. UGH. Look to the jacket immediately next to it:

Equally awesome looking Orvis Harris Tweed 3 roll 2 SC with leather buttons...HT label looks recent too. Size: 43L. YES. Look closer: riddled with moth holes. UGH.

Move down a few, see a super recent Brooksease staple navy blue suit...a navy staple is just aboutt he only thing I *don't* have, and have been looking for forever. Size: 43L. YES. Disillusioned, I check the jacket over - no moth holes!!! Get into the dressing room to try it on: sizeable moth hole right by the crotch.

All I managed to pick up was a not-that-ugly Robert Graham shirt and a Filson wool quarter zip sweater. Oh well, I can't complain...I had a good last week so I'm still happy.

haha, yeah, I didn't mean to sound ungrateful...definitely wasn't bummed about that, was just bummed that I didn't find anything that fit me (including the Filson). I'll PM you.

I'd be thrilled if I found that, congrats! Available?

Curious to see the Versace. Lets see if I can guess what it is just by that one sentence - its a black merino wool, probably ribbed, probably a wide boat neck?

My one sentence might have been misleading.... Just took these quick as I forgot to take them today and wanted to get your thoughts. Hope it's at least real and if so, what would your ebay title be? Thanks!

Riddled with moth holes.  UGH.

Hah, bad luck on that. If something is very decent with only a single hole, it "could" be worth snagging. I found a shabby haul of 52L / 42L sport coats recently. They are absolutely trashed with holes. I phoned a reweaver, current estimate is $400 - $500 for 8 sport coats with no guarantee the fix would restore the jackets to a pristine mint shape :( .

Moral of story, dont buy stuff with more than one hole in them.

I bought them anyway

I have found from personal experience 1 or 2 holes (if on the back of arms or back of jacket, aka discrete) on something like an Oxxford or better, can still be flipped for a good $$$ Hope you didnt by a haul of moth holed Stafford coats Klobber

, I would not even touch Stafford in mint shape let alone bust up. The SC's are respectable by SF standards.
BTW - You wanted that skinny Prada tie listed earlier on, you can dibs my Hermes tie I snagged recently. It would need a serious drycleaning, but it is a skinny(ish) tie of short length.

Geeeezy criminy, what, Kiton guanaco just laying around? What the heck's happened to this thread lately? O_O And why aren't I getting any of it?

Here's what I DID find, pretty nifty if not up to the level of the :worship: above. Both are available.

Filson jacket of some kind... what the heck is this? It's got no collar, but just zips up. Never seen anything like this before, SCRATCH THAT, here's what it is:

Tagged size L.

An LL Bean Norwegian... cardigan in the classic navy & white... mens size medium. Those metal snowflake buttons rock.

Just a few recent ties: And is the PRL possibly a grenadine? Still trying to get the hang of identifying those.
Available? Tradesies? :)
42L Kiton - Guanaco blazer... tried this on last week - feels like a million bucks and looked in perfect shape on quick inspection - too bad I'm a 40R... I'm on this shop's email list - got an email today (pic and listing below) - jacket goes on sale Saturday. Can try to pick it up if anyone's interested We've saved the best for last this week. This navy blue blazer is gorgeous to look at, but even more luxurious to the touch. Made of rare 100% Guanaco (a step up from llama), this custom tailored jacket feels even better than cashmere! Designed by Kiton and made for Barney's New York, this is at the pinnacle of Men's fashion. Size: 42 Long $125.00
MOTHERFUCK! :)

Found 6 new in plastic sleeve 7fold kiton ties today.

Then promptly shipped a $120 item to the wrong buyer on Ebay, now have to hope the guy I accidentally sent it to is willing to forward it to the proper address or I'm screwed :fu: All in a day's work

"Vintage Retro Gianni Versace 3 Button Johnny Collar Wool Polo Sweater Shirt V2 (NR)"

Thanks! I usually dont run NR auctions, but instead BIN OBO and let them sit, but what would you expect something like that to fetch if you don't mind me asking
cheers.gif
If I did run an auction, just start it at 8-9PM Sunday night with an 99 cent opening bid?

On another topic, I started getting my haul from this weekend photographed, measured and listed. First 7 or 32 things seen below. None of it fits me as usual

Brooks Brothers Luxury "Purple Label" White w/ Tan/Blue Stripes - 16.5-34

Ermenegildo Zegna Brown Herringbone "Snap Collar" - 16-355

Robert Graham RG Red Stripe - XL

Thomas Pink Dark Blue Babycord - Medium
