I think I have won the day. I'm gonna post pics from my first 3 stores now, but the motherlode came in store #4... that'll have to wait till after dinner

First store I was kinda disappointed. It's usually really good, but all I got was a very nice Eddie Bauer trench coat (in my size) with a plaid liner, and this really excellent Woolrich sweater, size XL (available)

It has leather patches and says "Ducks Unlimited" on one of the sleeves

The next place used to be a total hole... I found some stuff there, but I was always kinda worried I'd catch TB or something... It's been totally revamped as part of the VoA makeover and looks more like a boutique now.

Canali sportswear seersucker shirt, size L (could we see more Canali after dinner? Perhaps... FORESHADOWING)

Brooks Brothers long-sleeve polo.... Don't know why my phone is making the colors so saturated... it's just normal orange w/ blue stripes
    [IMG]

Baller green flannel pants w/ gold overcheck from LL Bean... 36 waist... I may keep these
    [IMG]

Now normally I leave Austin Reed because it's not that well made, but this piece is VERY well made... I wish it were my size but it's around a 46R, warm thick grey flannel

I'm guessing it's a 46R because it was probably left by the same person who left this beauty... HF with the Loro Piana Tasmanian Super 120's, size 46R and gorgeous... Charcoal grey with glenplaid and blue overcheck. Normally this would be my best find of the day... But not today [IMG]

The next store I went to I tried to talk the manager down on some luggage (NWT, so he couldn't), but I found a couple interesting things.

Chocolate brown J Crew Italian Cashmere sweater, size XL (available)

The rare double breasted casual blazer... This actually fits me (40R) and I might keep it if I hadn't found stuff for me at the 4th stop... and it wasn't black. I've never seen anything like this before... It's wool, but twill, with nice pick stitching on the lapel, very nicely made, 1/4 lined.

I have drastically cut back on my thrifting but have kept visiting stores. I swear I don't have a problem. Haha. Anyways, have had some of my best finds recently. A Oxxford overcoat. Herringbone pattern and also a staple charcoal grey HSM gold trumpeter, and BB three piece grey/blue suit.

Would love to see that Oxxford!

Like everyone keeps saying, keep going back to that store and looking for the pants. Sometimes they put the jacket out before the pants. What label is the Isaia? Enrico, Gianluca or the regular Isaia Napoli line? Either way, Nice find!

The one flight coat isn't black. It's Navy Blue. So... yeah... :nodding:

found a Zegna sport coat, mutiple Brooks Brothers sports cuits, a 3-button white Brooks Brothers suit, and a bunch of other interesting stuff but none were my size so I decided to leave them. I ended up buying a multi-colored Guy Laroche sport coat from Goodwill but that was it.

Dang. I am going over junk every visit. All I could find over the years is one Bulgari? (BVL) windup pendant for my daughter, and a crappy Wittnauer for myself.

    Pretty good weekend for vintage

Favorite find of the weekend Ascente Down Parka. Missing the detachable hood (spent forever looking under racks to find it) and has some punctures. Don't care because I'm gonna keep wear the hell out of it. I did some research on Ascente and with all the reviving of brands being done in Japan and the U.S. this would be a cool one to see redone.

Himalayan Parka. Torn between keeping and selling.

Pal Zileri & Hickey Freeman SCs - I'll get rid of these for $5 each + shipping. I try not to buy HF I'm not gonna wear but I thought someone might want it. It does have a 4" rip in the lining. Zileri is in great condition but I think from the 90s. sizes were 44 or 42. PM if your interested and I'll check measurements next time I'm home.

Ah, man. A nice khaki or navy wool Baracuta is one of those things that I dream of finding at a thrift... I'm not holding my breath, though...

That Ascente is a killer find! Love that green, you just don't see that shade anymore. Rip stop to boot! As for the hood, it may not have came with one. Back in the 70's and early 80's the snap on hoods to these parkas were an option for like $10. Many opted to not get them. Others did and were long lost, but I wouldn't worry too much as it's a good possibility the original owner didn't buy one. Ascente was one of the more expensive names too so a hood was likely $15 or more. That parka was likely a $100+ when new (that was a lot of bread back then) and looks to date from the mid 70's.

Also, of you decide to sell the Himalayan, I'd be interested in it!

The lady and I took a day to head down to Red Wing, MN for some thrift and antique searching yesterday. Unfortunately I came up pretty empty handed. Did come back with this pretty NWOT looking Levis shirt, size Large (available)

Does the redline on the top there indicate selvedge? Shouldn't I see that in more places on the shirt or is it just a gimmick?

On the way home at a stop in a suburban thrift I made a total rookie mistake in the audio department. Picked up a cool looking Audiosource Amp Two power amp that was marked at $8 but said "as is" on the tag but I really couldn't tell if anything was wrong with it and it seemed to turn on and everything. Set it down to walk around and look it up and when I found out it was a $400+ piece of equipment that would be worth the $8 risk some other guy was walking away with it.

Gianluca label. Can't go back as it's in Boston...and I'm in NJ, plus it has been there for a while as it was marked 1/2 off so either the pants were not donated or someone grabbed the pants and left the jacket for some odd reason.
