Snagged these today. The insides are a bit worn, but the outside's in great condition. The shape caught my eye, and "Brooks Brothers" is just barely legible on the sole. Can anyone confirm these are Aldens for me?

It's so interesting to me the ebbs and flows of when the places near me get/don't have good stuff. So I stopped by 2 spots I've tapered off a bit in going to because I haven't found much good stuff there the last month or so. Both were pretty decent hits. Ties first. Nothing amazing, but nice since these 2 never have any good ties:

BB Makers, Lavin, Zegna, Burberrys, Cromley & Finch (have since learned they're nothing amazing, but it's handmade in England, I love the design, and the silk is super soft so I like it).

    Shirts, store 1:

Battistoni (my first!!!), Barneys inhouse brand (made in Italy, linen/wool blend)

    Pants:

Orvis. First pair I've seen, and they are super thick and really nice. Seem like flannel, really nice pants overall. I can see why their stuff is desired.

    Shirts stop 2:

PRL Cable knit tennis sweater. Super thick, really nice. Light staining that should come out with a wash/Oxy.

All Pendleton. The top 2 are wool, and the first ones I've found without any moth holes! All in excellent condition.

And now, some good and some bad. The good...

Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Canali. All are excellent, except...

...pit yellowing on all of them ranging from a bit, to nasty. [IMG]. This is my ultimate test to see if the Oxy method will work. I left 3 behind that seemed unsalvagable. Oxying tonight. Here's hoping it works, because they're pristine otherwise.

EDIT: Also got 2 Charles Trwyhitt's in nice colors for myself, and a PRL short sleeve polo not worth picturing.

Can anyone tell me more about this suit? Had it in the closet for a few years, picked up at a yard sale some time ago. Starting reading styleforum and recognize the name. Has a rough wool feel to it and minimal lining(to my untrained eye).

All I have to say is they were real...and they were spectacular. :slayer:

And I don't think my wife who was in another part of the store would have appreciated me whipping out the smart phone.

Fuuuuuuuuuu. I should have taken before pics. They're already soaking as we speak. [IMG]

They're all 15.5/34 (aside from one that's 15.5/33), though I don't believe they're slim fit. I'll check again when I pull them from the soak before I go to bed.

I think your suppose to let them soak overnight....?

Step 3: Apply the strong solution generously to the stained areas. Place the shirts in a bucket (so that the solution doesn't flow away, or dry) with the stained areas towards the bottom of the bucket so they stay nice and covered in the solution. Allow to soak overnight. It can also help to use an old toothbrush and scrub the stained areas every hour or so, if you've got the time.

Sulka tie today, but that was it. Not in perfect shape, there's some minor fraying on the edges where it falls under the collar, and the label/keeper was partially torn and sewn back up. But still, a nice looking tie, and the important parts that people see are in perfect shape.

Yeah, I'm at Step 1 right now: soaking them in a vinegar/water solution to get out the laundry detergent residue.
