Hey guys, I was wondering, I picked up a sweet Brioni suit that almost fits perfectly, except for the waist of the pants and the sleeve length. There's enough material to be let out on both, but I'm worried the tailor's handiwork won't be as good Brioni's tailors.

there is no actual question found in this post
    lol

so you want to know what you should do
    find a better tailor
or just trust the tailor to do a good enough job with the suit
letting out the waist and sleeves are not that difficult

Is it wrong I bought it anyway? I know it's not SF approved to wear it orphaned but....I gotta stop. I might start weeping again.

Sure, I could pop $200 on eBay, perhaps $150 on a quick flip. But I did not pay a whole lot for them, getting 3 - 4 X what I paid works for me, it is only a bit of fun. Anyway, if I do cut great deals with a/several decent fellows, down the track, a great deal will be lined up for me other end - door swinging both ways. What comes around goes around, that is the spirit for me :)

eBay is impersonal, means I could do a great deal with one fellow, and in a future deal, he throws his toys out of the pram for no reason.

Pics will follow Jan 6th :).

I am off on holidays tommorow morning, and am unlikely to be posting pics or trying to rig deals until I come back on Jan 6th. I will of course respond to emails/pms and anything related to me buying from SF - I am only going to Arkansas. I am glad to see people interested, it makes my life so much easier to bundle everything in one go that do one at a time :)

    Reiterate:
    4 recent NWOT Zegna's (powder blue, 2 colored patterns, 1 dark blue), all in L - 16.5 with 35" + sleeves
1 Ralph Lauren Black Label (brown), 16.5/42 35" sleeve
1 Etro in NWOT (very cool pattern), 16.5/42 36" sleeve
1 Armani (peach tonal stripe), 16/35approx
1 Thomas Pink in NWOT (sky blue pink barrel stripe) 16.5/36

    * Adding to this list (dug these out of another box, I forgot I had them ):
1 Borrelli Napoli Shirt (white with black stripe - best handmade quality shirt ever = to Kiton), size 16/41 with 35" sleeves
1 Loro Piana Shirt (white linen shirt, utterly cool shirt), size L Italian but is US M, 35" sleeves, collar about 16"

I will take pics and approx measurements, post again on Jan 6th, and sell to first pm that dibs them. Those 2 extra shirts, I would accept $55 for them. $145 lot, done deal. UNLESS - those that trade with me jump in and make reservations. Do so before 6th Jan.

So that was YOU, eh? Just so you know, I really like the pants by themselves, so I don't plan on giving them up.

Welcome to the board, man. Im surprised your post didn't get more action. Thats a nice suit and a great looking material. If it fits your frame, you should try and make it work, if you don't think you will come across another Isaia suit for $5 anytime soon. Its a great find. Retail was probably $2500 or so when new, and you might expect about $250ish on eBay if you list it there. Best of luck and keep posting.

 If you need a sale for it.... :D

    Looks real to me.

    Wow......

Seriously the nicest stuff at Marshalls I've seen, even in the richer area is Polo RL and maybe some Ike Behar if you're lucky.

Picked up this super interesting sweater. It needs a good cleaning, but it's built like a tank and seems very well made. Have no idea who made it or how old it is, but it seems pretty old to me (if I had to venture a guess....50s? 60s? Or I'm just making shit up), as "Made in Britain" doesn't tell you too much. If anyone has useful info, it's much appreciated.

Got this one today, first Isaia Ive come across...must be a week of firsts for me. Oxxford, Hermes and now Isaia.

Is this a legit label? I can't seem to find any other instances of it.

Judging by the labels it's mid 70's to early 80's. Definitely looks well made, but likely best suited for a self purchase rather than for resale due to the lack of a name/designer.

Oh yeah, it's for self. Fits me and I kind of like the weave design, and like I said, it's nice and thick and well made. Just wanted more background info on it, so thanks :-D.

^ That is a hardcore grandad sweater. Perfect if you are a farmer.
