Here's a pic of the Pendleton jacket.
I have a question about some of this. I have (as you can see in my sig) a few pairs of shoes below and have been contacted by someone from Singapore about a pair. I was a little concerned because the person only has one or two posts in several years of having an account (I almost wondered if the account was hacked), and he suggested going through ebay. I don't know much about Singapore's mail service, but it seems like I'm taking a big risk of getting scammed, right? Are there shipping methods that will cause paypal to back me up, or will they, as I've typically heard, take the buyer's side in almost every case. I don't sell a lot, so I'm looking for the advice of the more experienced folks here.
Can you measure the chest and length from the back of the collar? You said it was a 40, and I might be interested if those are correct. It's a real beaut.
Is a Gucci tie with an Hermes-like pattern worth ten bucks? I passed on it, but was just wondering.
Like a bunch of H's?
nice jacket! what's the back like? the only thing i have against pendleton is that a lot of their stuff has "western" styling.
Just a standard single vent, nothing strange.
I imagine that USPS have a fully-tracked & signed for service similar to Royal Mail's Airsure. If that is the case I wouldn't have a problem with selling to Singapore, it's a small and well-controlled country, you never see litter anywhere and I believe it is still illegal to chew gum in public. What I can't figure is his insistence on using eBay, if you both have paypal accounts you could use that and avoid any eBay fees.
Emma's just had a situation with a guy in Belgium (that's where Canadians go when they find life in Canada is too exciting), she'd sold him a jacket and posted it via Airsure. He claimed that he'd never received it and asked for a refund, even though Royal Mail was able to prove delivery and his signature was on the receipt, he insisted on a refund. He opened a case with eBay and then escalated it to a dispute. Ebay could follow the tracking data and see that he had signed for it. In the meanwhile he left her negative, she's just got off the phone with them and they've removed the neg and closed the case in her favour.
I'd ask your guy why he insistent on using eBay
Hah, no, a really strange print with a bunch of belts buckling/unbuckling themselves? I'm not exactly sure what is was supposed to be, but the pattern/hand was definitely reminiscent of the Hermes stuff that I have.
Ah, a critter tie. They can be very hit or miss. Post a pic?
Slow day yesterday:
- HF suit in a nice gray...pretty recent (I must have more than a dozen HF suits as they are made here in Rochester)
- Zegna dress shirt....nice striped pattern
- Another Gieves & Hawkes DB metal button blazer....these things must be breeding around here faster than Harris Tweed jackets (if you are interested in Harris Tweed we should talk)
- 2 pairs of HF Pants in nice condition
- Non-shell Florsheim longwings
Items left but were awfully tempting:
- Pfizer tie with the viagra pills on it
- Norman HIlton jacket....first I've seen at thrift. Didn't fit me; do these have much resale value?
Hmm, I'll have to look into what's involved in having it signed for in Singapore. To clarify, though, his ebay suggestion was in response to my hesitance about just doing a standard Paypal deal. If I can get USPS (or perhaps FedEx or UPS?) to require his signature for delivery, then maybe it would be OK. Thanks for the input. I've never had to ship anywhere farther away than Canada. (I know, typical American!)
Amost new Aquascutum navy corduroy pants at 36R. Unfortunately did not fit. Can pass if anyone is interested.
Stores are crowded as hell. Spent few hours but found nothing that fits or worth getting to pass. Oh, well.
Quick question: Are Gitman Bro shirts worth picking if they fit?
Check the buyers and sellers feedback thread for his username.
Here are two shots of a recent HF suit that I found...I think it's a 38. There are, of course, other angles and label photos but I am posting these to get feedback on the pictures themselves, as I am new to photographing suits and jackets.
