Today I found a silk pocket square, 2 cotton pocket squares, and 3 bowties. The striped tie is Ralph Lauren, the polka dot tie is by Green Shag which is a bespoke place here in Toronto, and the double sided plaid/lavender tie is by a company called Dolbeau. All this at a Value Village for $9 [IMG]

I usually never see them either. Especially bow ties as nice as these. The other day I found a black one with white polka dots as well. I wear bow ties quite often so it was a good week.

Hell of a weekend with some MTM DB SCs that actually fit me (!!!) and some nice cable & co loafers (I know, I know, they ain't Lobbs but they are very nice fake alligator and fill a very open gap in my wardrobe, I'm getting them vibram overlayed and the works b/c I needed them until a more rare/awesome find comes along to replace them)

    but...

more of a question here: E. Marinella ties...easy to come by, or a major score? I found one in very good condition, $3.99 at the local Savers...not a fake. Again, nice tie, fits a gap in my tie collection "color wheel" and beats the crap out of the thin izod/beene/nautica stock I see around here most often...is Marinella a score?

(also, side discussion, I see lots of aquascutum ties around here...worth their weight in one dollar billes??? I snag them for the tie drawer)

Dig mentioned something about not buying a jacket and hiding it. Horrible what my Mother has made me. [IMG] So frugal that I had a BB made in Italy flannel shirt/jacket in my hand and I put it back (hid it) to get it half price a few days later. Of course, it was gone. Pathetic. I did score a nice plaid suit, Neiman Marc. label) in my size...at the tailer now..will post fit pic.

If anyone finds any vintage cycling clothing please PM me. I'm looking for older wool jerseys and jackets like this: [IMG]

    Thanks

Definitely. Well made and a bit on the pricier side at retail. I've only found one in my 8+ years of thrifting.

Interesting w/e. We hit the Filenes today here in Columbus and they had a large rack of "desinger ties" at $59.99 with an additional 50% off. They had an insane amount of Polo (made in Italy) and RLPL. What I ended up getting was a Tom Ford and a Dolce Gabana. They also had a Prada but I wasn't sold on the quality. I also picked up a new Southwick suit there. They had a few crazy Italian brands I wasn't familiar with (They must have got a big shippment in from Barney's)

We also hit a GW up here. Found a Norman Hilton for $12.99 that I passed on.unfortunately (my size). It just showed a bit too much wear in the jacket (not sure what you call it when it looks like the material has slightly bubbled). My wife got a brand new pair of Stuart Weitzman's for $25.00.

I came across a handsome, clean, straight, unwrinkled and lightly used 46R Hickey Freeman Canterbury SC today. Just too big for me so I left it (hidden but easy to get to) but perhaps just right for someone who's looking to trade a 41R Brooks Brothers SC! Did I mention that it is fully canvassed? I could swing back by and pick it up if...

Moi? Hide? That would be unethical! [IMG] Actually, I just put it as far back into the rack as I could in case csoukoulis wanted to deal that 41R BB SC he found a few days back but on further review, it turns out he's a 44R and that was a 46R. Oh well. Regardless, I stopped in today at a place I've been avoiding for over a week in hopes that they might magically "recharge" and I'd find something. I hit the weekend trifecta! Friday: RLPL slacks in my size. (32 but I need them shortened) $15 Saturday: John Varvatos Star America dress shirt in my size. $5 Sunday: Perfect Brooks Brothers 41R SC (take THAT, CS!) in navy with a gold? windowpane. It's a bit older but it appears to be a Madison fit with some waist suppression already applied by the P.O. $9 All in all, a very productive weekend for Diggers!
