So true. I live in a college town. Hit up the SA yesterday. Big casual clothes score for me. Three pair of pants that fit me perfectly. Two just BR khakis, but one John Varvatos USA linen/cotton jean for $3. They are on the Varvatos website for $165 [IMG] Wife says the "USA" patch on waist is a little ghey but won't see it when wearing a belt. A few Polo and JCrew shirts too.

Just cut the tag off at the seam. If they're like most other jeans the tag is sewn on separately from the structural stitching so you won't have any loose ends when you're done.

I was in Tampa today and happened to stop at a pretty large Goodwill and picked up a new bike rack for my car for 3 bucks. It's a Bell brand one, so it's not incredible quality but it's basically brand new and will work perfectly for me.

Not much today but did score a Zegna SC that fits. Half-off at goodwill, making the total $3.

Anyone know anything about Rogers Peet suits? The lapel caught my eye, and it turned out to be canvased, in great shape on the outside, and probably fairly old, judging by the perspiration stains on the lining. Still it looked great, and was a great cut, but too short for me. (I'm a 40, or 40 L, and this was marked 40S, and felt a bit tight.) Trim sleeves, nice fabric, but I just couldn't buy it, 'cause it don't fit. Anyway, how does something like this rate?
The suit looks funny in the bottom pic because of perspective.

Also, I'm still pretty newb here. If y'all think this thread should be reserved for Nataku-grade buried treasures, I'm happy to post this sort of question as its own thread in MC. Opinions welcome.

Rogers Peet was a competitor to Brooks Brothers, starting in the late 19th century and going out of business in (I think) the 80s. I don't know much about the quality of the later years, though.

Wow, so much win in this bunch of shirt! Jeebus I wish our thrift stores had this kind of stuff, as it is my area wouldn't know Brioni, Kiton, or Canali if you gave them a $5,000 bill.

Been too busy studying to hit up the thrifts but I was able to go today and I hit up three stores. Stopped by VV and found these:
    [IMG][IMG]
Johnson & Murphy Aristocrafts 11D in good shape with minor scuffs- not my size but I thought someone here might be interested in them

Passed up on a pair of brown AE Sanfords because of the amount of damage done on the uppers - it looks like some small animal chewed on the top of the shoe:

After VV, then headed off to GW and the St. Vincent de Paul but didn't anything interesting there.
