    Playing Polo with Ralph Lauren
Hi, picked up a couple of things over the last week. One I have a question about: Picked up NWOT Sky Blue Polo Ralph lauren silk and linen pants yesterday in my waist size (32). Great fit at the waist. I really like the material, I think it would be fun to make the color work. They're flat front, which I prefer, and they have a hidden pocket at the waist band, which I really like on my pants that have it. [IMG] [IMG] Now the problem. They put the full back in full cut. I didn't have a tape handy, but they have to be 12" at the knee. I'd need to hem them anyway (being new, they're just basted, and basted to about 38+), should I wear them baggy, try to slim them (and how much could they really be slimmed?) or give up on them and try to sell them? I'm inclined to try to slim them, but I think they'd need to come in to about 10" across at the knee, and wonder if that much is actually possible, or would look good.
This. Money for you and ill-fitting pants gone. PM me if you decide to go this route, I have an ugly ass friend of a friend who you could be doing a great favor for a minimal loss.

    I just found a... nevermind.

I believe Kiton puts a strict cap of 40% ULL in their clothing.

I had some thrift store burnout for a few weeks, but went out today and got two ties: a raw silk Sulka, and a cashmere tie without a designer label.
    [IMG] [IMG]
The tag says it was $30 new. I'm not sure what to do with it, but it was cheap, and Jesse just did a post about how hip raw silk ties are now, so I got it. Is it worth anything?

    [IMG] [IMG]
I'm so focused on spring/summer that I almost passed over this, but I'm glad I didn't. It feels really nice, and I think I'll be happy about it in fall. The tag has no name, just says "a norma della legge", dated 26-11-1973. Anyone have a clue what it might be?

Also passed on a Paul Smith made-in-Hon Kong jacket, a handful of Linus jackets (pick stitching, fused), and an English made Leeford trench that looked nice, but had a bunch of stains. Again - any clues on whether they're worthwhile?

    Both have some value.

The Sulka is probably worth $30, but check it carefully, off white tie + thrift store = 90% likely it has a stain somewhere

The other is a mass produced (80's probably) wool / cashmere tie from Italy. Pretty generic, but decent quality and they usually have nice patterns. Probably worth $18 on d'bay.

This small town noob got excited about a week ago when he saw a Zegna tie--it had a spot on it, right at the tip.

Today--Zegna Soft shirt, got excited again. Then I noticed snap down collar points. Are those original? They didn't look it.

Also, I was looking for some chinos for myself. I found a pair by Ralph for a few bucks that seemed like they'd work for casual wear. The fit was really good, except someone had hemmed about 6" off a 31x32 pair of pants. No luck for me, lately.

I got these a while ago and am thinking about selling them:

I have had some luck, though they aren't in the best shape.

I find etro things to run a bit small or I'd have you running back for that and make it worth your while!
Howcome you left it behind? No flipable value? Not your size?

Thanks for the response. I really like the cashmere one (the tag says 1973, not '80s) so I'll keep that for myself. The Sulka's clean, but I'll have to live with it for awhile to decide if I'll ever actually wear it. If I can get $30 for it, it's worth my time.

So that explains why I've seen so many that looks like they were made for someone about 200 lbs and 4'8. I've seen quite a few RLPL ones like this too. Only the pique cotton ones. Wonder why...

I always hang dry my Lacoste polos. And if you see one like Nataku described, if you wash it in cold water, then stretch it back out length wise then hang dry it...it will be wearable again.

Today I found a Recent label Isaia, 100% Cashmere Sport Coat with working buttons. It isnt my size and I was wondering what you think I should ask for it? I tried to do some research but couldnt find much. It is very similar to this:

Found and absolutely incredible Blue checked HS&M Gold Trumpeter sport coat in Loro Piana 100% Worsted Cashmere today. Probably the softest fabric I've found on a SC.

Only problem is it's 52R (US) and has some slight wear around the collar.

I know there's a few guys on here that the size may work for so if anyone's interested I'd be happy to head over and pick it up.

I found a similar HS&M gold trumpeter as well. Nice brown w/ blue deco. But Was a 42 or 44...didn't grab it b/c I don't flip...but damn it was nice. Tried it on anyway to see if by a miracle it was sized wrong. No bueno.

Someone will have to explain the signifigance of working button holes. What makes them desirable? Even the ten dollar ones at Old Navy have them...and yet you do not see people on menswear blogs waving Old Navy arms around with the same fervor as their Brionis. Odd.

I've got a last minute trip into Atlanta this week if anyone knows of some decent spots I'd appreciate a PM and would gladly give up some of my spots in CT if anyone needs it.

Are you going to be in North Atlanta (Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Alpharetta)? If so, I can give you some recommendations, but I am not sure any of them are worth driving from other parts of Atlanta since there are shops all over the city.

Found a pair of Hickey Freeman Shoes, Size 12 D. They are Pebble Grain Leather, handcrafted in Italy. Anybody have any idea of the quality and who makes them? And how much to ask for? Thanks!
