Not quite thrift, but a grail find from the Patagonia Worn Wear shop. An old pair of Stand Up Pants at considerably lower than online resale. Also another Synchilla Hoodie for my sons.

Doing some thrifting in Chicago had to stop at canes View attachment 1285105
Talk to @drlivingston about some fried chicken spots, like Gus's or Guthries or Eugene's Hot Chicken (get the lemon pepper), or BBQ like Saw's or Rodney Scott's or Bob Sykes or Miss Myra's, or something a little nicer like Bottega or Highlands or Chef Fon Fon or Ollie Irene's or Fancy's on 5th or Automatic Seafood or Ovenbirds or Hot-n-hot Fish Club. I can keep going, but I feel like we can go toe-to-toe with the Chicago food scene.

Nothing wrong with Raising Cane's. I have eaten at the one in Tuscaloosa a few times. They started in Baton Rouge, LA. Birmingham does have a great restaurant scene. With several James Beard award winners spread throughout the city, you can certainly find something to please your palate. But, enough about Birmingham, how was the thrifting up in the Windy City?

Quick bins hit today at lunch. Nothing amazing, but $6 all in.

1980 lake placid winter games jacket, jw hulme usa made cabin bag... And the first pair of florsheim shell I've ever found. No cream puffs, but uppers are totally restorable (flash makes them look worse off then they are). Soles have life left in them. Unfortunately, someone removed the heel and most likely the v cleat, for rubber ones. Size 11E.

@CWOyaji, you have any need for these? Open to trades, including food and/or booze. haha!

You bet I’m interested! One of my sons wears that size. I’m going to be in San Ramon Monday for work, maybe we could meet up in the East Bay someplace convenient to you. I can bring along some trade goods. I have a lot of cool things I haven’t gotten around to listing.

Take my credit card please! 95% rule.

Two doors down was this senior center that had a "golden threads" sale, so said screw it, those usually suck but let me stop in, I mean, Im here.

Looked through the racks, best thing up there was an Adolfo coat in a cashmere blend made in Korea or something. Made the old ladies laugh with a few jokes about how I was looking at womens stuff. Said goodbye and walked out the door and saw a basket of scarves on the way out. Nice print, spaghetti front rolled hems.....

How much are the scarves? "Son, theyre $4 Im sorry. They used to be $2 but they made us raise the prices.

Heres a $5, keep the change!

Awesome!

You know my thing. Size small (sometimes medium), 36s, 29-31" waist depending on brand, 9-9.5M shoes.

No rush. They're yours. If you can swing by my place in Oakland, I'll crack open the Zero Halliburton suitcase stacked with goodies (including the Suitcase). Lol!

I'd rather trade than list stuff anyway. I'm easy going. You might like the other stuff or go "meh". Won't hurt my feelings either way.

Point being, bring stuff you think will fit me. Either you'll find a trade or if I absolutely have to have it, I'll pay for it ?
