Wow, I've even outdone myself on hipster douchebaggery. Going to a record swap in Oakland.

I don't even know what this outfit is... But it's definitely... Uh, something?

Sadly unable to find the pants after a couple re-visits on this one. First piece of kiton tailoring for me though (from what I recall). Only find today was the tie but it was nice enough for $1.99

-non thrift related note. I got these adidas from Bezos for around 50 bucks. Got so many complements from strangers I grabbed another pair in a slightly different color.

Oh, that was part of the plan.

Plan fell short as I guess there's an age limit to the glue used for the soles.

Bastards started separating. I'm guessing the shoes are mid 90s? Still made in Germany. So they're now glued with Barge cement and tied together to dry. This hobby makes you both a cobbler and a tailor. Haha!

Your shoes and shirt coordinate. Your hat and capris coordinate. What's the big deal?:thumbs-up:

Woot, rollin’ up like @PLaydice up in here...

(Shh, just let me have it).

Anyone have insight into this one? Can’t remember if I posted it before, but it seems like the kind of thing that would set the right person’s world on fire...but they’ll never see it. DK3 was apparently an early 90s role playing type game with cool graphics and possibly some risqué content. Beyond that, idk, someone help me out.

The Sega “dream cast” was apparently a video game box or something.

Im confused - these look like they were well waterproofed - why did you scrub all that off?

Thanks! I didn't hold back on them. Wire brush, sand paper, sanding block, steel wool. The back end came out, but the front is stubborn, so probably need to clean that **** off first with saddle soap. Or something stronger?

The phone makes the color look wierd, but the suede is fighting for a comeback. You can see where whatever garbage they used turned the inside edges orange. So someone stupid did something stupid.

There's like barely any sole wear. Good year welt and nailed on top of it. badass! I want to save these. They'll never be the super clean $250 examples I've seen online, but they deserve a better fate.

Yes. In retrospect, it was probably fine to leave them as is. But they are definitely seude and never looked like that from the factory.

I'm on the northwest hikers forum for some reason. Lots of old school hikers. One person said it was probably sno-seal which was popular at that time. And that's what it looks like when it breaks down.

Doesn't matter. Worst case, i put the modern equivalent back on and away I go. But make no mistake, these are suede boots not leather.

So, perhaps it wasn't stupid to put that stuff on because it waterproofed the hell out of them... But it did create a sticky mess after decades.

Wife had a big week and then stayed out late last night so me and the lil one let her sleep in while we hit the park, the bakery and a couple thrifts. First stop had a new bin full of super awesome children’s books so my 1 year old was stoked.

First off, couldn’t leave this bootleg-ass Supreme/Louis hoodie. Instagram still the place to go to sell bootlegs?

Very quick stop in the middle of a grocery shopping trip. Did much better than expected, highlighted by this. It's in good shape but very wrinkled. Is that worth bothering with?

Other stuff for me that didn't warrant photos were a NWT Massimo Dutti cardigan, Zegna Sport popover shirt, Hackett dress shirt and Uniqlo cashco sweater. Happy birthday to me.
