Okay, I'm sick in bed, so feeling snarky.

I'm guessing other than natuku, left of the dial and kbadgley84, most of you don't know what an insane find that original WWII Star Sportswear A-2 was for about $4.

I feel petty just for writing this, but I have a 101 degree temperature. Lol!

Possibly... But it's not as interesting as the @impuntura LV Appreciation.

Lol of course they did
N&F has done so many random ass jeans that I'm not even surprised. Still wanna get my hands on a Kevlar pair though.

My musk comment still stands

Extememly rare, in great condition. $1500-$2000, i woukd Expect to find two vicuña at the bins before one of those. WWII leather is extremely rare to begin with but the Star Sportswear have their own fan base

Came across one of those scratch and sniff ones in the thrift once... didn't have the courage to test the scent though.

I've been on the vintage leather jacket forum. Learned a lot. Nearly everyone said don't put any leather conditioner on it. It will **** up the rare light russet color (because nearly everyone has already fucked theirs up by now).

They said the pigment is still shiny so it is not dried out. And never put it on a hanger. Lay it flat in a breathable raw cotton garment bag under my bed.

I told them I want to wear it once in a while. The general consensus is if under about 10 times a year, no problem! But just as you wouldn't make a 1942 car your daily driver, you should not make this 1942 jacket a regular wearer.

Had a surprisingly hard time getting a cotton bag in downtown San Francisco. The schott store is run by a bunch of snotty kids who don't know their ass from a hole in the ground.

Ended up at the fur shop at neiman Marcus. Told the dude what I was looking for and what it was for. He said "wait a minute" and came back with a nice raw cotton loro piana garment bag and just gave it to me. Nice guy!

Trust me. The vast majority of us know that it is an insane find.
Get well soon!

Actually, Indy's jacket is not historically accurate. It was made for the movie. It's a Mish mash of different styles. Like there's no knits on the indy jacket. It's like an A2 humped a moto jacket.

Correct. :fistbump:

However, should Indy have been a real person. and the stories truth.
His jacket would most likely have been an A-2. from the 1940's.

so the jacket really is an exciting find.
for many reasons. but for me? as a fan. he was a character to look up to.
