When you find 3 or 4 Samuelsohn (recent) sportcoats that would work size wise...but find the arms are cut t-rex arm length. Sigh. (With nothing left to let out).

Did find this in my size....mmmm...Cashmere.

It's amazing how well shell comes back from the dead, huh? That's why I just love finding crusty moldy ass pairs... They always come back to life with brilliant hues, glossy finish and plenty of life left. Great job.
As long as there are no cracks in the shell! If there are cracks, they’re goners.

Oh yeah, it showcases it very well. Yep, these are the photos that will be going onto the listings. People really love these worn out t's, so it's a big selling point!

Or someone put Alden sockliners in an unrelated pair of shoes.
I'm not saying that's the case, just a possiblity, I've never seen personal custom Aldens but maybe they exist

Definitely not just a sock-liner. It's fully part of the shoe, and it has the "Goodyear Welt - Made in USA" stamped in the footbed further up on the attached insole as well as an Alden stamp on the main leather sole as well. I've never seen custom Aldens before either, so I'm stumped!

From an old AAAC thread.
Alden used to do stock specials (one-off make-ups of existing patterns with the leather, last, and sole detail of the customer's choice), but I believe they stopped a few years ago -- too much of an impact on production for too little remuneration. If you are an unusual size, you could probably get a retailer to tack an order for a particular model onto his order of the same model for stock, but that's about it.

Great info. Thanks! This is likely the deal with these shoes. I bought them for resale, then was wondering how in the heck I'd properly be able to figure out what size they are. Alas, I tried them on and they fit _perfectly_, so 13D it is.

Could you post a picture of the sole and heels.. Alden at one time did a line of corrective shoes, the name of which escapes me. They had an unusual shape to the heel. Maybe it’s one of those. I think it’s the Trubalance last.

Forgot to post this last week. I found this at a very unassuming garage sale in the suburbs. The house was a bit run down and the driveway was full of kid’s toys that had definitely seen better days. Almost didn’t stop. Glad I did. Fabric is great, it’s knit, sort of like a sweater.

Found these two today. I haven’t ever seen or heard of Haverson, and can’t find much about them outside of their website. The quality is great, though.

This will get lots of wear this season. Vintage (presumably) homemade heavy wool overshirt.
