Great score @drlivingston I actually thrifted that exact turntable, albeit in much less good condition. It sits on a shelf along with a Sony PS-FL1 collecting dust, waiting to eventually get connected to whatever moderately decent receiver I find and used as the vinyl portion of my house audio setup.
Since we’re on audio at the moment, I actually have a fully thrifted setup. Kenwood KD-5100 connected to a Pioneer SX680 and pumping through a set of Bose Interaudio 2000’s and a pair of Baby Advents. Nothing too special and it could all use a little fiddling here and there, but for less than $100 it plays, and that’s all I ask of it.

If it’s not a crack they’re probably flippable but not for tons (ballpark somewhere in the 50 neighborhood) and will take a fair bit of effort to clean them up I’d prob pass. If for personal I’d def pass.

Too big for me and you know my track record at flipping is in the single digits so I left them. Walked back to the smaller electronics section and saw some weird little computer speakers and obviously cut cables hanging from them. I looked a little closer and saw the initials B&W, got a case of instant wood and hurriedly snatched them up

Bowers & Wilkins M1, retail price $250 each!!! They were marked $30 but pink tags are 1/3 off so they cost me $20 for the pair

Don't fall in love Rumples, don't fall in love :rolleyes2:

First post in a long time (year?). Have lots to catch up on but hope everyone has been well. Here’s a smattering of stuff I’ve found in the interim. Most is gone except for the black label tan suit and Charvet tie. Working on getting a handle on all my backlog and have shipped a bunch to spoo with more ready to go. The big leather club chair was off Craigslist and it was an absolute trick to get up the stairs and in my house.

The All Clad is missing a lid, but was too cheap to pass on

I passed on a $5 All-Clad roasting pant this past weekend because the nonstick coating was destroyed. There are certainly situations where you should pass on it.

Ok... Not too up on vintage home audio stuff. Should have hit up @Nataku prior to purchase. But, for less than $20, comps looked too good not to pick up this Realistic LAB400. I took it to a local repair place and they said that the original Shure cartridge had be replaced with an Audio Technica AT91. He said that he doesn't even think the needle has been used. He played a record on it and everything worked as it should. The included manuals still had the original 1979 receipt inside. Purchased in Calgary, Alta., for CAN$255.58 (which, factoring Canadian dollar inflation would be equivalent to a little over CAN$910.00 today). He offered me $200 for it. Sounded tempting as I am scared to ship this thing. But, in the end, it's still with me. The guy at the repair shop put a blue twist tie to protect the tone arm from moving during travel. That is what you see in the photos.

That's a gorgeous friggin turntable! It was actually made by CEC, the same company that made turntables for Marantz.

And that's real fvcking wood. I love fvcking wood! And I need a new (read: better) turntable too. Does the wife need a Gucci watch?

I’m in the beginning stage of having to move due to my “long term rental” of my landlord’s “forever home” being bought out from under me because the housing market here is absolutely ******* nuts right now. Out of state cash buyer made an unsolicited offer. Not sure which one of you thought my finds were so amazing you had to displace my family, but you’re ******* lucky that I love all of you enough to look past this. Haha.
I’ve amassed a ton of ****, and I now realize instead of being a professional hoarder I need to recommit to being an amateurish flipper and clear out more of my treasures. :/
That said, I still have an addiction of going to a store or two almost daily as the FOMO is too much for me. It pays off admittedly too much, as shown here.
Stakkkking set from K&D (pretty pricey resale) that I honestly would have bought just for the dope box alone, haha.

And this line wasn’t available to the public or “sold” per se as they were meant for recognition awards. 10kay gold...

Those are great little speakers and definitely sound better than they should. Upgrading the crossover makes them even better.

After extensive back to back testing via A/B channel, I think the Minimus has a better range and just sounds better with most music than the B&W. How can this be? I need to retest using with another receiver

Oh yeah and I got the JVC amp as well. The week started off weak but is now looking up
