$12 Realistic Minimus-7 speakers. The vintage crowd goes gaga for these things. I will grudgingly admit that they sound better than they ought to. With frequency response rate of 50 - 20kHz just add a sub to the mix and one could be a happy camper for some time

Was going to hit a few thrifts hard in Phoenix yesterday after I dropped off a bunch of larger items at the auction because I didn't want to deal with shipping them. But set off late and ended up in a 2-hour freeway standstill because of a wreck on I-17, and it screwed up my day. Time for only a single one-stop on the way back. But which store to pick? Decisions, decisions . . .

Thrifting oddity: jacket has the logo patch, pants have the newer rust-red colorway. Go figure.

TNF wimmenz "Windwall" (Chris Farley after a burrito-eating contest?) and a pair of Italian snuff suede cap toe derbys from Mario Fagni, who I've never heard of, but these are my size and for five bucks, will do fine with linen pants or chinos this summer.

So a decent stop, but the shocking thing is that almost all this CM had made it to half-price tag color, which I think is six weeks around here. Signs of the times, I guess . . .

Those are great little speakers and definitely sound better than they should. Upgrading the crossover makes them even better.

I just passed on those exact speakers, you're not in ATX are you? I was excited to get some back porch speakers, but I passed because they were $50, I'm guessing you didn't pay that much.

 nah I'm in the DC area which is now known as The DMV, which sounds stupid to me because I always thought the DMV was where I went to renew my driver's license but I digress...

Mine were only 12 beans

Ok... Not too up on vintage home audio stuff. Should have hit up @Nataku prior to purchase. But, for less than $20, comps looked too good not to pick up this Realistic LAB400. I took it to a local repair place and they said that the original Shure cartridge had be replaced with an Audio Technica AT91. He said that he doesn't even think the needle has been used. He played a record on it and everything worked as it should. The included manuals still had the original 1979 receipt inside. Purchased in Calgary, Alta., for CAN$255.58 (which, factoring Canadian dollar inflation would be equivalent to a little over CAN$910.00 today). He offered me $200 for it. Sounded tempting as I am scared to ship this thing. But, in the end, it's still with me. The guy at the repair shop put a blue twist tie to protect the tone arm from moving during travel. That is what you see in the photos.

In a store right now. Found a darkroom Gralab 300 for $10

Definitely pulling the trigger on this

Found a dirtyJVC AX-44 integrated amp (100W per channel) but there is an issue with the left side on channel A speakers. Channel B works fine
debating whether to pull the trigger. 20 beans isn't bad, is it?

And some oak veneered JBL J2060 speakers. $25 tho...I dunno...

Yo that thing belongs back here.
$200 was a fair offer I don't think he was trying to screw you, having said that because it's so mint I think you can move it for 300 on local ads.
Bro,DO NOT ship.
Even if nothing goes wrong during shipping ,to get it to to ship problem free is a huge, and I mean huge pain **********.
And even then these are so fragile you're just asking for it.speaking from experience .

Thanks. I was hoping that you would offer some words of wisdom. Much appreciated.

Yeah I sold that Braun I got way back ,and even though it was in its original box (cover was off protected with styro etc etc) somehow a hinge still managed to crack when I shipped it. I mean there was zero play in that box and still it happened .
Plus the buyers for turntables are so OCD they will send you a list of what to do and god help you if you don't and something happens lol.(especially the covers).
Plus vinyl is outselling CDs now so someone locally will buy it eventually .
That cover looks flawless btw.
