I like my Contax G1, but the G2 would be much better (there’s a stupid focusing issue with the G1 that they fixed with the G2. But man, are those lenses sharp. As a bonus, the lens work on Sony A-series digital cameras with an adapter.

Right. I have A380 that was left over from a small bunch of DSLRs that I bought at a govt auction. It is only 14 mp and doesn't do video. When all was said and done the Feds basically paid me $200 to take it off their hands

@impuntura , wanna see my flight jacket again while i'm at it? LOL!

I want a battery-less interchangeable lens rangefinder. Leica M3s are outrageously priced as are M2s. I would 'settle' for a Leica iiic/iiif but they have started to creep up in price and I like the idea of attaining my hobby **** via frugal means, fawk retail. A Canon P is basically a Japanese Leica and uses Leica screwmount lenses so that's high on my list. And of course there is Nikon

Leica iiic > Canon P > Nikon S2/S3/SP in that order

Now let me see what I can scrounge together that is worth a damn. You are NOT getting my Snells :rotflmao:

So I went back to that thrift store where I got the powered speakers and good news: the rest of the gear was there (don't get excited Brits, not that kind of gear).

Bad news: The receiver/cd/tape had no price. It appears that in my rush to get the speakers I didn't realize that the price I paid was for the entire system

Worse news: Talked to the manager and she said that if I had come back yesterday she would have given it to me. Instead she had to price it

Slightly better news: I informed her that the speakers were powered and the brains didn;t have an amp so she marked it down to $7

Back to worse news: The belt for the tape appear to be shot and the cd tray shoots back and forth like a madman

Even worser news: I bought it anyway :rotflmao:

Saving grace: When I went to grab a cd to test it with I found a canvass and leather coach laptop bag from their mens collection in damn near new condition for $2.70 (1/3 off)

Recent finds. Thrifting has been very different lately, but not all that dry.

@Thrift Vader Didn't this model come stock with a drain pipe seat post?
Love old school Dyno rides.
Hmmm. . . good eye.
On a guess though, that one is '92-93?
I want to say that it looks stock to my eyes, as the Compe was aimed at Flatlanding? I think the black plastic clip thing hides the drainpipe.
Yes yes, TWHS.
But i am seeing the straight pipe as early as the late 80's.

Boys, take note. This is the Bible of BMX.

If you know the brand and era? You can identify a bike as stock or custom.
It's the SF of BMX. And yes, I am a member. (since before SF)
Good as free money.
