Not a great idea to mess with heel balance in general ;)

Those are logger boots and the heel is high so there's space for tree climbing spurs. Boots that heavy probably have a steel shank which is bent to match the curvature of the sole. Chop off any of the heel and it will be like walking in rocking chairs.
