it has been real dry for months now. The bins are packed with people, a couple dozen hype kids watching youtube videos and instagram trying to outdo each other on who found the most "fire". They all look the same, Carhartt pants and jackets, some vintage tshirt underneath, vape pen in mouth. I have turned into a crotchety old man overnight.
Have been able to grab a few things lately though.

The envy of the hype kids was strong, actually had one kid offer me $15 for this. I told him I was going to make a pillow cover out of it.

Also grabbed this 50's Carters selvedge chore coat

80's Bean Maine Wardens Goretex jacket

I had a sweatshirt just like this that I wore to death back in 80's.

Great find on that Carter’s jacket. I sold one just like that to the Ralph Lauren offices in NYC ten years ago. Still one of my favorite finds ever.

Here's a few more photos of it... $3 at a local Mom and Pop...Pretty sure it's goatskin, but I wouldn't swear to it.

There's just no question that it's a women's small. No hand pockets, and the waist is really high. It would be at your navel. And look at that collar!

They’ve been filling the racks while the snow has been filling the streets. The pants from 1943 are outstanding.

Swazi fleece looks like it moves really well. Never heard of it before, but it's made in NZ.

Sure, why not, for ~$2 per tie. The Etons are pretty cool tweed untipped, unlined, hand rolled.

True story: I was down in Phoenix today selling the CLS55 AMG, but the buyers moved like lightning and ended up putting me in an Uber all the way back home (120 miles). Yeah, they footed the bill. But so much for my intended thrifting extravaganza, as I watched Phx fade into the distance, and my dopamine levels plummeting . . .

Anyway, just as we were doing the DMV stuff, a thrifting buddy/competitor from my home town had pinged in with a picture of an MCM piece, asking what it was and what it was worth. Here's the pic:

Whoah!: a Le Corbusier LC4 (or close-enough replica thereof): a chair I've wanted for a long time. Over the years, a number of different companies have manufactured this design, but I really don't care whose it is. In fact, although attributed to le Corbusier (since it came from his studio), the designer was his associate Charlotte Perriand. It's an interesting story.

When I went to respond a few minutes later, I saw he'd sent another text saying he "had all he needed to know", so I assumed he'd ID'd and kopped it.

Got home 5 hours later, and "her ladyship" said she couldn't be bothered cooking, so I went into town for carry out (in the plaza where the local GW just happens to be, lol), and zipped in for a quick look while they were preparing my order. I was floored. There was the chair. Couldn't get it outta there fast enough . . .And now it's in the back of my car. $49.

A thing of beauty. More pix when I get it set up. But dang, where else would this have lasted five hours?

It's going to be a fun conversation with my competitor . . . though not for him . . .

Have you ever paid 67 times as much in shipping, than you paid for the actual thing you bought? 1kr is around 15 cents or so I am surprised that he actually send them to me.
EDIT: Spiga3 is (or at least was, before the current owners took over) a high end menswear store here in Göteborg Sweden. These are Italian made and should retail for around 170-190 dollars or so.

Nice hauls everyone! Maybe the spigots are opening again? I might have to hit up the bins to see for sure. Haven't gone in months because it looked like a potential covid Petrie dish.

Quick stop down the street yielded yet another pair of Revo. Unfortunately these 960 lenses are even more jacked than the 840 I found last week. Still for $2.50, who cares?

$2.50 Revo? Jesus!!!

I was on a mission to buy a pair of blue Revos, back when there were the biggest thing since sliced bread

Yeah. I ended up balking at the price but instead bought a pair of expensive knockoffs ($30) called 'Skivos' with orange lenses because i wanted to be different. I was the epitome of cool, in my mind
