Then lastly I hit a small non-profit, one room shop, about a mile from home. They had just put out their winter stuff...

And also these two men's XL, from the Torino 2006 Winter Olympics in Italy...

The black one has a drawstring waist, something I've never seen on a wool sweater...

PPU, $4. Kinda took the sting out of striking out earlier.

The only thing that soothes my nerves after the extreme jealousy aroused by the viewing of these finds is the understanding that most of them are wildly out of my size range. Otherwise I may crack.

definitely shell. Regarding the model, I have found very old Alden shoes with model numbers that don’t match. Ex: an old pair of moc toe Bluchers with model 983, which is currently a full strap loafer. Vintage shoe experts might know when Alden made the model switches.
