A bit off-topic, but I thought more seasoned posters might have a solution:

I've been searching high and low for a replacement belt to my old Aquascutum coat - it's 100% blue wool, and the belt got lost somehow.

Any ideas on sources for this?

It’s not an ideal solution, but I’ve done it for robes: shorten the hem a bit and use that to make a belt. It wouldn’t need to be the width of the original necessarily, if you were uneasy about shortening it too much.

I picked up an olive London Fog trench coat the other day for an upcoming project and didn't notice the belt was missing until after I had gotten it home. So frustrating! At least I learned my lesson. I'm usually pretty vigilant and about looking for moth holes, etc. but the presence or absence of the belt didn't occur to me at all.

Winner! Almost all Gs are hard Gs as in "go," Ws get a short v sound, ei/ie combinations are long vowels (always the second vowel sound).

Giesswein = G like go, ie = like seem, ss = s, w = very, ei = time, n
