Facebook Marketplace purchase. Paid up for the nearly 50 year old JBL L88’s..but still under market. Purchased from the original owner who is a musician and used them as his studio monitors. Even the grills are solid and he said he never took them off. They cleaned up real nice with Howard’s and sounded great.

You know what JBL stand for ?
Junk But Loud,my friend used to always says that to me.
He still does, but he used to too.
Back in the day, when I used to do competition car audio, I was fortunate enough to have the guys at JBL let me borrow two Crown A6000GTI amps to see how they would hit in my van. Those damn things were no joke. I wish that I still had them. They sell for a small fortune now.

As a teenager, I worked conventions at the Disneyland Hotel.
I worked a huge audio show, and I remember all the manufacturers making fun of Cerwin Vega. Saying they were ****.

Back in the day, in terms of car audio, Cerwin Vega Strokers were the ****. They outperformed everything in their class.

feat. A dual cs 5000 turntable (Only took me 5 years of searching to thrift a good one), $15 + $30 for a new belt. Came with a Shure cartridge, currently spinning some Waylon.

And a pair of Klipsch kg2 speakers, $120 on Facebook marketplace inc. stands and a Yamaha receiver and basic center channel speaker that I incorporated into our living room av setup.

and last but not least a Marantz receiver I thrifted for a tenner.

not that good good marantz but does a heck of a job. Preamp is pretty junky but will serve until I dig up something better. Lots of stuff to post but I’ve been lazy lately.
