One more try, anyone able to tell who made these? Writing on the insole says "Hess Bench Master, Made in England". Thanks y'all.

So I'm packing up a large lot of eyewear to go to @capnwes and "her ladyship" walks in "Oh, I need some sunglasses". There were Gucci, Chanel, Ray-Ban, Versace, Carrera, Chrome Hearts and many others all lying there for the taking. Like an idiot, I say "You can have any pair you want, of course". So what does she pick? Vintage 90s Oakley X-metal Juliets, and to top it off, these ones have Rx lenses, so I have had to cough up for an NOS set of Polarized Revant Ice Blue lenses, because those are the lenses she wanted. How do they always, automatically, instantly, pick the merch with (by far) the highest resale value? Unerring aim. Women! Sigh.

Yourself, @impuntura and @Nataku have all found Juliets this year! I’ve wanted a pair of these since I was a kid and saw Cyclops in the first X-Men movie wearing them.

So these are not Juliet, nor are they a part of the X Metal collection, but these were produced around the same “golden age” of Oakley from 1999 to 2001.

These are the Michael Jordan OO square wire frame, and it seems they are pretty rare. Apparently they were made both in optical lenses and sun lenses. A vintage sunglasses dealer was telling me that it’s much more rare and harder to find the pairs of them that are mint and with original Oakley sun lenses. Michael Jordan had a direct input in the design of them. Thrifted a pair for a cool $3.

I used to know an Oakley designer, who had the same motorcycle I did which is how I met him.
He gave me a tour of the Oakley HQ around that time, which was right down the hill from my house.
The place was pretty incredible.

^FANTASTIC! Great kop!

Quick post here for the gear heads. Estate sale today of a guy who was a Snap-On dealer. Wish I’d got there sooner, as it was the third day of the sale. Perhaps like some others on here, I started with full sets of cheap tools aka “Harbor Fright” and every time something breaks I replace it with the good stuff. There were a handful of sartorial items, and I’ll post this bcz it’s StyleForum, not BenzForum. Other finds are spoilered for the mechanically inclined

Above: sub 10% rule. Below: SnapOn, Williams, VMI, Bahco. This lot, all for $50. [For those unfamiliar with the brand, the Snap-On socket sets are $250 apiece retail].

Now that is a handsome bicycle.
Well done sir.
:thumbs-up:

When this is over, we should do a side thread on the bikes of Corona.

Recent finds. Light on finds as I haven't been out much. Tons of posts to catch up on in this thread.

Nothing available at the moment.
