Top 5 is (From last to first)
5) Spain
4)southern Italy
3) Morocco
2) Japan
1) Jamaica

A Chef would get a job here in a few days, with the right connections.

But you'd be quarantined for a while, in a hotel room where they leave food and linen at the door and knock/run. and occasionally, a fully hazmat suited person will show up to check your stats. after that time? excellent.

When the virus is over, i am considering opening a bar. it would be nice if i didn't have to keep going into the kitchen.. . .

I’ve actually been talking over an Overseas move with the fam lately. Any suggestions?

Do you have any marketable skills? :hide:;)

Seriously though... My top choices internationally would be like this:

1. Squamish, BC, Canada (or really, anywhere in the area north of Vancouver)
2. Queenstown, New Zealand
3. A tie between any other place in Canada and any other place in New Zealand

And those are just the places we could actually move based on my wife's citizenship.

GRANDPARENT THRIFTING: PART DEAUX:
THE FINAL CHAPTER

Alright, I know it’s not thrifting, but my grandmother knew one of my favorite things to do in life was to suit up and excavate my parents’ attic, piece by piece, in search of lost childhood treasure. My grandparents didn’t have an attic, but there were a few storied items, lost to the ages, I wanted to set eyes on again. She asked that when she died, I come by, long after others had left, when everything else had vanished, to search the rubble. I always showed her the magnificent Hans and Spoo finds that were so much like the things I remembered from our five hour walks through Houston’s Sharpstown Center. She said I was sure to find an obscured gem of my own, and I should show it to the internet people, and see if I could get a good price for it on eBay.

Miraculously, I did find some things. Those are just for me — but I was almost as stoked to find these things as well — some old family B sides to show you, and maybe get a good price for on eBay. It’s not much, and it’s not true thrift, but man were these lost, and I did feel like the Hans, who I imagine thrifts with a hat and a whip...

I used to love these. I still do. I don’t know why.

So this is where this was! An old...looks like a lunchbox type thing. Probably sealed since 1985.

I’ve always heard about this — never seen it until now. It didn’t look like the ones online (I’ve been looking for it). Turns out it’s an ultra rare, full-sized ‘lab sample’/preview flacon. It was sent out with a little card bearing a promotional message of some sort. This one doesn’t have it because Cher gave this bottle to my aunt when she was a young sales rep. 1985, I think.

Full unopened set of the inaugural Oscar de la Renta perfume, 1977. No idea why it’s unopened.

Bottle inside looks like this, I think.

One more shop around here finally decided to open up yesterday so I’m slowly managing to dig out the good stuff. Tastiest thing I found was this 1998 Argentina Adidas football shirt. It’s the rarer clean version that you get in South America rather than the one plastered with logos.

That is one of my absolute favorite international football shirts. Perfect width on the stripes and lovely colours. The only one I know I like more is the white Swedish kit from the World Cup of 1994 (albeit for sentimental reasons)

I love finding 90s football shirts. For me it was the golden era, especially in the English Premier League. I’ve lost a lot of interest these days as it all feels pretty sterile in the modern era.

Speaking of Sweden, I also sold this 2004 centenary shirt recently. I’ve got a soft spot for the Swedes too having lived in Jönköping for a while.
