I picked up this set today. I'd just spent a shitload on a complete Ralph Lauren Galahad set for my Queen mattress, then I find this King rig. (Pics aren't of my bedroom.)

Love the brutalist bedroom set. Think I’ve seen similar on 1st dibs from some Canadian maker. @tonylamer

I recently got a dope Henredon Heritage king set, but yours looks way cooler!

Awesome pics @wumpyfish . That plane looks like a Marines version of the F4 Phantom.

Correct. V means fixed wing. M means Marine. Those seemingly random ass letters mean something. For example, my squadron was HMM-365. Helicopter Medium Marine.

Edit: I had to look up the squadron designator on that F-4. I expected it to be be VMFA which means Fighter Attack (air to air and air to ground). VMCJ is a Composite Reconnaissance Squadron. Composite means that it is made up of more than one type of aircraft. And since it was in that squadron, the aircraft in the picture is an RF-4.

^Just today I was wearing a Gap anorak that I've had since I first went into the Navy (~30 years ago) and I had a flashback to the time I ripped the arm going through the hatch into the engineroom of the sub. There's a L shaped repair where I had it expertly repaired at the Navy Exchange tailor (no sarcasm, the Philippine ladies that worked there were magicians). We never had Marines on the sub, transported Seals a few times.

Favorite thrift memory was the ethrift from a woman selling her hubby's stuff Link to the post

I got good (not really) at sewing because I lost so many belt loops and pockets on my poopie suit to that watertight door. We smoked in MSW bay when the lamp wasn't lit in whatever the area forward of the fan room by radio on an 88 was called.

Speaking of jackets, wish I had that foul weather jacket still. Best damn jackets.

So there was a news story on the radio this evening that Goodwill of North Georgia doesn’t want any more donations while they’re shut down due to Coronavirus. Apparently lots of folks with time on their hands are decluttering and dropping tons of stuff off at closed GWs but there’s so staff to process it. Hoping that means pickings will be good when things loosen up a bit! Might have to drive by to see what’s piled up....yes, I’ve gotten that desperate...

^ Hey, don't be cluttering up this thread with stuff that you bought at thrift/discount stores.

I stumbled on that entire set of Time Life western books once at Unique, bought the whole series on the spot. The photographs are pure gold, and I ended up using them a shitload for projects in fashion school.
