I've had a strange period lately where I've been finding collectibles rather than clothes. I left a lot behind, but couldn't really go past these.

This is a shoe brush integrated into a leather pouch (presumably for polish and a rag) that was made in England and has a SS Himalaya badge. The Himalaya was a P&O liner that operated from 1948-1974.

Picked up this lovely Mariano Rubinacci tie for £2.70 last week from British Linda. Listing it now, but unsure how to classify the material; gut says wool, but non-silk ties are a new area for me. No material tag.

Also curious about the material of the Kiton tie I picked up and posted a while back. Any help on that too would be appreciated! No material tag either.

Rubinacci looks like a silk and Kiton is cotton/linen maybe? Maybe even a silk/linen blend who knows. have you opened up the thin blade as all my Kiton ties have the content tag really hidden inside.

I checked inside both the tail and 7-Fold, but couldn't find anything. For safety sake, I'll list the Kiton with slight ambiguity for now and explain in the description. Thanks for your help!

Yeah I'd agree. First tie looks like Silk or a Silk/Wool blend. Though generally Wool blends are on more Winter styled ties in darker colors and plaids. That looks more like a Spring/Summer tie, and thus might just be silk. Second tie looks definitely linen or linen/cotton blend.

Never been a huge fan of Zegna's shoes, but these are pretty cool. Brand new and apparently a current model. Willing to bet they came in with the original box too. Too bad they toss the boxes because "they take up too much room on the shelves". Ugh.

Score Story.

So last night I did a casual thrift outing with the gf and found that AllClad pan... But while at that store, I spied a fresh shoe basket/cart in the back production room.

In the top, buried under a few pairs I could see what looked like a nicely shaped reddish brown shoe. The shoe cart was so close to the door that I kneeled down and was able to look under the sole and see that orangey tan color that most leather soles have.

There was only 1 shoe in the basket like it, so I knew it was something they had pulled out and priced up and were keeping the matching shoe in the back. To me, it really looked like a pair of Allen Edmonds or similar. I even said to my girlfriend "I bet that's a pair of AE's.. they even look like my size." (13 D).

I waited around for about 20 mins, watching rack after rack come out (with nothing good on em), but not the shoe basket. The employees in back just kept walking past it and not touching it. I was tempted, but of course I'm not gonna reach in and take anything out of the basket.

We left and went home around 4pm. Back at home I was writhing around and kept thinking "what were those ******* shoes...". I was afraid that the shoe basket had been rolled out right after we left, as there was another 5 hrs that the store was open last night.

So this morning I got up early... drove to that store just before they opened...
