Size 12!

They had a lot of other nice shirts in a similar size -- RLPL, Phineas Cole, Canali, Isaia -- but I left them because, well, they didn't fit.

Then 15 pairs of pants that all fit. Almost all Incotex with a few PT01 and Jacob Cohen. I was going to keep about a dozen, but that's silly since I work from home. Instead, I'm just keeping two Incotex and one PT01.

Only had 20 minutes to hit one store this morning. Nothing spectacular (twss), but some decent stuff...

Sammy ca$hmere jacket, Isaia jacket, Partenopea suit (Left behind several other Sammy cashmere jackets due to 23.5" arms.)

N/A: Mint Taylor Stitch Yosemite chamois shirt that I just noticed has dry spit-up on it and BB made in Scotland Donegal shetland. Lastly, sterling cufflinks that I probably paid too much for but they were giving me vibes reminiscent of my grail cufflinks, Hermes' Noeuds.

Thankfully, the ties below will more than pay for the cufflinks. Keeping the Ben Silver knit and the BB stars.

bizarre that we’d find shoes from these two makers on the same day. I don’t think I’ve seen footwear from either on here before. Anyone have a clue as to the maker on these? They’re certainly unique.

^That's rough when you start to divide the hours by margin, but sometimes worth it when you find something that you wanted for personal. Took just under 2hr this morning, first stop was a fat zero, second stop made up for it, probably averaged out to $120/h. That 2 h included commute times, but not listing times.

I'm not an american muscle fan, but I love finding those vintage jackets. I'd feel like a poser wearing one driving around in my Tesla.

Spoilered as a courtesy those who do not flip.
This is an interesting metric. It's in the nature of country life that if I want to find stuff, I have to go hustle elsewhere, so time and travel expense are the price I pay, pretty much every time. And most of that is down in Phoenix, 2 hours away, though I do a SoCal trip every 2 months (16hr RT), and sometimes Vegas (8hr RT). This trip, the expected margin would pencil out pretty handsomely (~$300/hr), but that's because of the artwork and several other items not shown. I bought a whole bunch of stuff that I didn't post here (Bose etc, and some furniture) that adds to the yield. I don't post furniture here unless it's super cool. I will often rent a UHaul 6x12 enclosed trailer ($29 a day "local rental", as opposed to $125 one-way), and take it down empty with the expectation of filling it, which thus far, has always happened.

The other thing is that the value of one's time is a function of the opportunity cost: what could I be earning with this time if I was doing something else? If I was back in practice, that might be a bigger number, but right now, it's not much at all, so I've got more leeway to allow for a sucky day.

That said, I don't really rely on the "acquisition metric" because for me, the prep, fix, photograph, process, write and list part takes an enormous multiple of time longer than the kop. I think it takes me at least five additional days of work, maybe more, to process the results of just one day of thrifting, if it's a full Phoenix day around one of my five loops there. Maybe longer. Plus, at least a third of my stuff goes to @capnwes, just so what's left stays manageable.

This is why I've been starting to work a deal with a local furniture consignment store to bring them furniture every week or few. Last time I was in CA, I picked up an Ekornes couch for $100 at SVdP, dropped it off at the store on my way home and they sold it in less than a week for $1800. 50/50 split. Works for me. Just got another check from them today. I've been branching out towards items that require much less time commitment than CM has done, especially since prices on all but grails have tanked. (Tomorrow I'm picking up 24 gynecological exam tables from a nearby hospital. I've already pre-sold them, netting around $4300 after expenses. A decent day's work, albeit involving another 1-2 trips down to the valley to deliver the dang things).

As regards the Cobra jacket, well, that was an easy kop, with an almost certain 10x flip, looking at comps.

So I guess I'm saying that I've been doing my best to migrate to items that have more dollars attached to them, trying to make $900 on a couch instead of $90 on a suit. That improves the ratio of dollars earned vs. time spent per item. But just like CM, the good stuff is always a hustle to find and acquire!

Talking of Tesla, though. I have one available for sale right now that's a 2016 P90D with 3500 (yes, hundred) miles on the clock. 671hp. Ludicrous mode bends your face (TWSS). Owner paid $140K, IIRC, he wants $90K. Maybe a hair less. HMU for deets if anyone's interested.

My daughter is asking for an assist, she says those in California can help the best. Does anyone have access to this candy? Apparently a hot commodity amongst the tweens and she's begging for some. If anyone can get this will pay/trade proxy. Apparently its from a Mexican company. #dadlife
