Are these the only three you got?

Out of the stack I got 5 total. The other 2 beneath are a "The Witcher 3 Soundtrack" double album.. My fiance loves that game and we enjoy the music from it. The last record - "Riding with the King" with BB King and Eric Clapton. I enjoy both those artists so I got it.

The rest of the persons collection was varied soundtracks, some obscure 60's/70's hippy albums that I didn't recognize, bunch of Bob Seger and some other woman singer that I dont remember. A JRR Tolkien Middle Earth album that was valuable, but not my thing. An eclectic mix for sure. All the vinyl was in pristine condition, even if the covers were thrashed.

There were some satanic/demonic stuff from artists: Satans Pilgrims, The Damned, Twin Temple and others. I looked up comps and saw ~$35 avg each or less for those. Not really enough for me to mess with and I know someone else will be happy to find those.

But yeah it kinda blows when you come up on a stack of 50+ in plastic covers only to whittle it down to a couple for personal keeps. When I first started pulling albums off that stack I thought I was about to get paid.:plain:

Amazingly the YSL is new with tags from the early 80s would be my guess .
How the hell did the tag stay on there so long .
The Bally portfolio also appears to be unused and from the same era,I'm kinda liking it .
Somebody made a killing in the 80s and splurged .
I also found a Dior portfolio there last week also looks new without tags .

Not much going on around here, but what's going is good.

Can someone confirm that Berluti size is handwritten in tiny letters on the inside of the flap?

In order of appearance: T&A, 100 Hands, barely used Berluti sneakers ('they don't look like anything special, so I'll mark them $20', said the nice lady at the store), Alden chukkas, and a NOS Homburg Godfather hat...

It's been pretty dry at my usual spots in terms of thrifting. Finally managed to break the streak with some decent finds.

Ricci x 3 + Zegna.

1000007081.jpg

An interesting unstructured J. Crew Ludlow sport coat in a Japanese Selvedge Covert Twill. Not entirely sure what makes the twill covert, but comps were decent and I figured I'd fish for offers on the Bay.

Canali Silver Label 44L. Pants are tailored to a 33 or so waist, which is probably the most dramatic chest to waist drop I've seen on a thrifted suit.

Three jackets by GEMELLI. From what I understand, these aren't from the luxury suit store of the same name as I originally thought. The business hasn't made a post since 2015 and they don't seem to have much of a footprint, but the jackets felt nice in hand. If they don't sell, I'm certain my brother will welcome them into his closet.

Crown jewel of the last week is this navy blue suit by Caruso for Tincati. It's my first time finding Caruso, and I honestly like the feel of the suit more than some of the Brioni and Kiton garments I've found in the past, though I'm not the most discerning or knowledgeable so take that as you will. If only this suit wasn't 12 sizes larger than mine. 😔

Bounty aside, here are some "gems" that I did not end up grabbing
1000006885.jpg

1000006886.jpg

Lovely "FEAR OF GOO" 7TH Collection denim jacket. Made my heart skip a beat when I saw the neck label while skimming the racks.
1000006888.jpg

Label-less jacket with a strange inverted J.Press branded lining that also made me do a double-take. The jacket looked ancient and the fabric was stiff, so maybe someone's tailor recycled some lining fabric from a J.Press garment for the own creation?

Hope everyone's been well, and happy hunting to all!

Took the morning off to hit a store that had a ton of Poncho overpriced, but today is 50% off day that made it bearable. Hats off to you pros, I hated hitting the store as soon as it opened to be in that black friday-esque rush of pros grabbing stuff.
With my mission accomplished, I stopped by SA. No clothes, and I missed something, because there was this flipper with a cart of no less than 50 tees and still going. Didn't see the brand, but I've seen this store get huge retail drops before and they put out tees for $1, so he was paying 50 cents. Instead got this pristine Kettal set. Stoked to have this for our new place, also 50% off, so 1% or less of retail.

Oh I love the high heart rate, the surge of adrenaline, the sweaty tingle in my feet and hands just before the doors open and we all rush in.

Wow that green one is nice.
(Probably a sportcoat I don't think I've ever seen as suit with brass buttons but I might be wrong)

Three items from a live auction in Phoenix: first off, I've always wanted some Vladimir Kagan, but at fifteen grand a pop, it's not in my thrifter's budget. However, these lookalikes from Carson Furniture in Archdale, NC are a decent substitute for the front part of my living room. And a perfect match for the rug that "her ladyship" chose. Normally around $3K apiece, but ya gotta love live auctions: $55 each.

The Mitchell Gold/Bob Williams "Presley " chair at left will go to another part of the living room, to be replaced with the two Plycraft Eames replicas I'm presently restoring. Upholstery is done, and I'm on the second round of stripping the varnish off the bentwood before I refinish it with oil. The upholstery has come out nicely:

More pix when they're done. Meanwhile, at the same auction, one for the gearheads amongst us. I happened to see this transmission (it's mostly a furniture and general merchandise auction), and started bidding. I guess someone had slung in a proxy bid online at $50, but no-one else was bidding live, so I snagged it for $55. Three $55 winning bids in one auction. Weird. Anyway, it's a 1969 Porsche 912 transmission (technically transaxle), so should do well. They appear to get $2500 and up.

Still boggled that no-one else bid, but that's the joy of live auctions!
