lovely studio craft (sadly unsigned) sofa in the monterey rancho style. collapsible snack/drink tables are a nice touch.

@txwoodworker & others, any assist in identify the wood(s) used?

Primary wood is walnut. The close up with the lovely curly figure on the arms looks like Claro Walnut. Are you in Cali? I can't figure out where this used to be upholstered, I don't see any tack holes in the horizontal rails, yet it looks like a secondary wood or some less choice walnut.

I see two different grains . those armrest supports look like oak but the rest looks like either walnut or fruit wood

thanks guys! walnut is what I thought/hoped but wanted to make sure it wasn’t just wishful thinking clouding my judgment.

I’m in FL.

there are holes like this above the rails and in the side panels. I’m guessing it may have had that metal banding or coils or something at one point. I bought it with awful, cheap cushions and a poorly cut sheet of plywood as the base.

Went back to the goodwill with the sweet vintage Gant blazers. Promised myself I was going to just check the pants and maybe a few jackets. Did find 3 matching(?) pants, from the same lot at least. Unfortunately on my way in I found a nice Jcrew women’s Blazer and unmarked japanese selvedge denim on the new racks, so obviously I had to look through a majority of the store.

Hit up Buffalo Exchange for the first time ever before this stop and found a few sick pieces there as well. There’s definitely luck involved in a lot of this, but today made me believe I could make this my one of my main jobs.

Anyway, here’s some quick tax

Man even Chicago dried up these days. Spent three days down there with the best thing I got was today loafers. Price jumps have been crazy every small local thrift has a boutique section now and the big stores just have shien. Which Jesus Christ never seen such poorly made clothing, like I get its bottom of the barrel but oh my God it's bad.
