Legit. I've seen that layout often enough . . . They're a bit slow on the flip, though . . . well, isn't (almost) everything?

Thanks! Is it in fact a rain coat? The make-up confuses me, but the other one I found is listed as a rain and wind jacket.

It does seem like everything is slow lately. Metrics are def down, definitely has me pickier lately on what I am grabbing.

15 Mil Mil 15 (does anyone buy these any more? I guess I'll find out . . .) View attachment 2302163

I know this is a few weeks late, but yes - the last one I listed sold in about 48 hours for full asking price. So yes, anecdotally, still pulls strong.

Also, I want to say I hope your GF is doing better. Catching up on this thread for the first time in a few weeks I saw the post above which is the same one you posted about the accident in.

Prayers from us for you!

I think "wind and rain jacket" is a pretty accurate description. More "water-resistant" than "proof", but pretty serviceable. I think I actually have one with similar makeup now. Yep, here it is, in tan:

The "other guy" you talked about will never get $500 for it. More likely $79-$199, trending lower, as usual, and will sit. There are only a handful of items that instaflip on eBay any more: Filson, Ghurka, Schott, Tom Ford suits (which I never find, though I have a TF navy blazer I will NEVER sell, until I do), Dead Bird, Birks, LV, a few other things, and oddly, Apple TV 4Ks. I had a few here from a bunch of local auctions/estates and finally got around to putting two up. Both sold in 5 min. Time to get the rest listed, lol. Commodity items with significant price elasticity are the fastest to sale (which, of course, is not what we mostly offer from this thread).

Generally though, seems to me as though more people on eBay are trying to buy at thrift prices these days, not reseller prices. I've been doing a lot of decline/blocks lately for absolutely egregious "offers": $20 on $199 and the like. And people who make a lowball of $55 on $159, then I counter with something reasonable, and then they counter back with $57. Phuq off. Decline/block. Sigh. It gets old . . . Should have probably put this on the eBay thread, but whatever . . .

Yeah, thanks. She's a beast. Hard to believe she was in a coma 10 weeks ago. Did 3 loads of laundry yesterday, and went to a nail appt. Won't generally be seen in public yet, as her hair is long blonde on the "non-surgical side" and still growing out fuzzy and dark from being shaved on the other. It's a "look", but we won't be going out for dinner for a couple more months!

I've appreciated all the support from the gang on here!

Oh, one other weird piece of thrifting trivia: I put myself on Ozempic (well, not the branded at $1400 a month, but a compounded version from a pharmacy I know personally and trust). Easiest weight loss ever, and absolutely amazing how, as a lifelong foodie, I look at food now and go "meh".

Funny thing is, same thing has happened at the thrift stores. Just as MMiUSA was talking about being "pickier", I look at items on racks and just go "meh". I still kop the great stuff, but Ozempic has been the best ever facilitator of NOT kopping time-sucking, low-margin fodder . . . Strange but absolutely true . . . A nice "side effect" of GLP-1 drugs, at least for me . . . YMMV, of course . . .

Yeah, agreed. Selling this year has seemed overall spottier than last year and certainly 5+ years ago.
Some things are easy; Isaia, Alllllden, and mil stuff always go pretty quick, but yeah it is getting hard. I have had a few people low-ball me recently, where when I countered - they then re-offered lower than their initial offer lol. Block list grows all the time. Haha.

Oh yeah, I am not anywhere close to that $500 range on it haha. I knew that was egregious. I got it for... the price of a value meal at McD, so yeah, I can't complain.
Good luck on your weight loss journey! As a former athlete it has been a struggle for me as I have aged past sports and my body seems to absorb calories harsher without working out haha. After mom died from cancer in 2023, and the tornado and hurricane event I mentioned in the eBay thread of this year, I ain't doing well on the stress gain portion either. Trying to reel it in lately though. If I didn't have a torn meniscus I would still be playing ball honestly, but yeah - is what it is, have to find a way past that.

Been hitting the electronics section a bit lately, this one is a real highlight. Ca. 1980 Harman Kardon 570i Stereo receiver.

Left channel sounded wonky but after working out the buttons 50 presses each and turning each knob 50 times, it is working like a champ through all test and inputs.

Not the most powerful of amps but this thing puts out some seriously nice sound. FM Tuner is really very good and all the controls are smooth as silk.

I'll clean it up outside and go through it eventually, it's a keeper. Not bad for $29.

First time out in Charlotte, see this guy.

Any chance of a Detroit out the window.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
