I want to know the amount of cocaine taken in that suit.
In the summer of 1974, someone walked into Gieves on Savile Row and commissioned this suit, and epitomised the whole decade in one exquisite piece of craftsmanship.

I have no idea what the antiquated outworkers made of it as they handsewed every seam and buttonhole, but the single gold button, deep plush silk velvet, flared trousers (17 inches at the hem) and geometric lining all make me very happy and looking forward to some cooler weather and a party I can wear this to…

Been e-thrifting a lot lately but all that stuff is at the tailor so here is some regular thrift finds this month.

Facconable pants are 100% linen with side adjusters for $2 was a no brainer.

Factory order number puts this pretty much unused Gibson TG-0 tenor guitar at 1960. Thanks, Facebook marketplace. Came with a nice vintage Gibson case for about half of this one, which is also a very early production run model without a serial number on the headstock: https://reverb.com/item/76834996-gibson-tg-0-1960-mahogany

Here's a handy lesson on how to determine whether your SuSu is a suit jacket, or a sport coat, so you don't have to waste time hunting for the trousers...

Look at the inner right pocket tag, and find the wording as circled below (for reasons that I don't understand, it's written in Russian).

The Russian word for "Jacket" is пиджак...That's a sport coat...
SUSU pidzhak.jpg

Whereas the Russian word for "Suit" is костюм. That's a suit jacket. Better hit the trousers!

And speaking of LaundryRoom, Jr.... He's off to university in two weeks. I took him down to Florida last week to spend some time with him. Here's a couple pics of him flying a plane (my brother has his pilot's license, and took us up in a Cessna, but it's my son who is actually operating it, at least for a few minutes) :inlove::inlove:

Wouldn't the appearance of a drop number on both the jacket labels indicate that they are both orphans?
