In the summer of 1974, someone walked into Gieves on Savile Row and commissioned this suit, and epitomised the whole decade in one exquisite piece of craftsmanship.

I have no idea what the antiquated outworkers made of it as they handsewed every seam and buttonhole, but the single gold button, deep plush silk velvet, flared trousers (17 inches at the hem) and geometric lining all make me very happy and looking forward to some cooler weather and a party I can wear this to…

Ugh 17 Brioni ties creased up and down their full length at $5 a pop. They must’ve sat at the bottom of someone’s closet. I’ve seen different things about getting the creases out. Good pass?

Unless they're the most recent banger Brioni ties, I'd pass. Wrinkled ties are a pain in the adze to correct. Yeah you can press em with protective cover, but then you press all the curved/rolled edges flat and often press the seams and etc into the fabric which is almost more damage than the wrinkles to begin with.

The best bet is to pull taught, then hang over a hanger and maybe steam from a distance. May take a few applications - The warm moist steam and gravity/time will eventually let the creases and wrinkles relax but if they're really bad creases they may never be right. That's a decent amount of time to invest too, so enter at your own risk.
