Love vintage cashmere. Wish I picked up more back in the day as I rarely see it now.

I agree with this - I’ve got a deep stock of Scottish-made Ballantyne acquired over the past ~20 years but pieces are few and far between now.

A recent pick-up...

Anyone good with fragrance? Looks like Amouage Gold but was nothing written on the bottom of the fragrance other than a sticker made by the sultan. Not sure if legit? View attachment 2093549

The inside of that atomizer says vintage to me. The recently re-release of this bottle shape is frosted crystal. Is that a travel atomizer or something else? I found similar presentation but with bakhoor chips. I’d have a tough time leaving it if it is not marked up to secondary market pricing.

It was at £120 so not inconsequential pricing.

Picked up a beast of a DVD player to see if it sounds any better than my current unit for CD, the DVP-S7000. It sounds great, and at $30 with the remote, manual, clean and fully functional it was a bargain. Built to similar specs as the Sony ES line, second laser pick up for CD's, Retail in 1997 was around $1199. A real sleeper.
It's retro cool with the drop down faceplate controls. Truth be told, my current one (actually a derivative of this one...) sounds as good or better, so I will keep it for a second unit or a back up.

Back to the tape deck, I finally got around to installing the new belt. Considering the solid look let liquid to the touch qualities of the old belt, it's amazing the wheels ever spun in the first place when I originally turned it on. After cleaning it up and coaxing the new belt into place, it fired right up and sounds way better than I had any right to expect for the price of entry.

Wrapping up for the night. Here are some additional finds from the past couple of weeks:

Then some odd ones:

Mr Turk (Men's Collection from Trina Turk). When you need a linen MIUSA romper:

I look at everything and this jumped out. Funny how there are tons of references to it on the internet from lookbooks to YouTube videos, hyping up the new H&M Summer/Spring Collection of 2013:
